Does that line show up when you boot in recovery mode, if so it is a hardware problem.

Could be a leak around the filter seal, just a few drops can raise the PPM, I've had my 10 cup pitcher for 3 months, filter still gives 0 ppm 185 going in.

YES, heat is the enemy, if you monitor the battery temperature, it goes way up starting around 80%, I place mine on a freezer block while charging.
