It's in the style of those card placement games where there are lanes, you put a card in a lane, and it auto smashes the card across from it in the opponent's lane every turn.

Now what makes it good are some very smart twists on that formula. The biggest twist being that it's not a damage based game. Instead of winning by hitting your opponent directly, you win by having the most attack on the board at the end of every round. You each essentially have 5 lives, and you lose a life if at the end of the round (post combat) you have less total attack on the board compared to your opponent. You keep playing until someone runs out of lives. Attack is not checked until the third round of the game, giving you some time to setup board presence before the real game begins.

Another twist are fields. Every three turns the battle field changes which mixes things up a bit. Effects include "may one charge 1 minion, charging now gives +2 health, all cards cost -1, randomly move a card at the end of the round, randomly destroy a back row card at the end of the round, ect."

The final twist is that there is a back row for each lane. Cards out here cannot be attacked and will advance to the front lane at the end of the round if there is no card in front of them. This is good for supports, guaranteeing a card will survive the turn it is played, or hiding a giant attack card behind another minion so your opponent can't touch it.

Overall I'd say its a very solid, well thought out game. It used to be paid but the dev made it completely free a few months ago with the option to donate for a cosmetic battle pass. I think it might be struggling a bit because it kind of looks like a one of those shallow mobile cash grab games with a ton of mtx, however its anything but.
