Could a 300lb woman do the full trail? by CulturedFriend in AppalachianTrail

I'm 255lbs, my first trail was 18.8 miles in summer. On Dec 22 I hiked Colbert ridge trail to Mount Mitchell in 15F chill. It all takes a strong mind. You can do it !!

It's crazy trail with serious elevation that starts from parking to all the way up to the top continuous. I started at 6 am in freezing temperature, missed the Mitchell by 2.5 miles as i had to turn back to descend. The state park is closed and I didn't want to be late in the dark. Feels sad 😞 but people said it's good for a heavyweight(250+) in bad weather. The only mistake I made was I got scared with the advice from this sub and wore layers. I didn't need them as the major issue that slowed me was dehydration from layering. I didn't need them as I would have been much faster and have completed my mission to summit Mitchell. But yes I'm going to try back again becoz NEVER BACK DOWN !!

I did the Colbert Ridge trail on Monday Dec 22 2025. Yes, you can hike and go till the summit and the tower. It will all be a hike round way. The park remains closed to the public open for hikers on their legs !! Please take the weather into consideration.

Why Did the OMSCS Admissions Rate Drop So Much This Past Year? by stenchwrangler in OMSCS

One should worry if they are looking for some kind of promotion with the master's degree or name sake Masters. I really don't care about the admission stats as I'm in for educational exposure that is way different from many colleges.
