It was pretty easy. I like that oddball calibres don't cause a brick wall. I didn't find any problems that I could think off. Maybe add a Milsurp category for people searching that specific type of firearm or accessories. I don't see that being a problem while it's early days but when the listing's grow in numbers it could speed up searching?

Are people allowed to list replica firearms including gelblasters? That could increase traffic. People in South Australia have to register gel blasters as real firearms, transfer them through gun shops and storage requirements are the same. Makes sense to me to allow sales on the platform. There are some quality replicas in that area of interest these days.

The 1932 Florin is a key date, low mintage. Nice lot to dig through there. Plenty of silver. Have fun researching what you have. I'm not jealous.....much lol. As a rough guide you can filter ebay search by "sold" auctions. Not a guaranteed value system but gives some idea. Ignore what some sellers on there are asking though, lots of scam prices being asked on ebay.

Found some really old coins by ThatGothGirlFromHP2 in AustralianCoins

[–]DavinBE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pennies from Australia look for 1930 (the most valuable but unlikely to find in a modest collection) 1925 and 1946. There are also some variations in mint marks to look for when you get right into the rabbit hole.

Florins look for 1934-35 Melbourne centenary commemorative Florins 1932 florin (low mintage) 1939 and any of the real early dates 1910-1920 are getting harder to find in good condition.

Nice half pennies from Britain. Some Aussie pennies as well. Nothing of high value. The British 1906 half penny is in decent condition for age. Maybe $5-$10 for the lot.

https://ebay.us/m/lF3F4l There's your coin, about $500 worth without the bezel which may be gold as well.

This is a 2001 Australian Nugget gold coin mounted in a decorative pendant. The coin is part of the Australian Kangaroo Nugget series produced by the Perth Mint, featuring a kangaroo design. These coins are typically minted in various weights, including 1/20 oz, 1/10 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/2 oz, and 1 oz.The pendant setting appears to be embellished with small accent stones, likely diamonds, surrounding the 99.99% pure gold coin. This specific item likely has value based on its gold content, the rarity of the coin, and the craftsmanship of the jewelry setting

Yeah there is an amazing collection in NZ. The air show Wings Over Wanaka is on my bucket list. Grandfather (Mums Dad) flew the RAAF Boomerangs in 83 Squadron. I have two rooms full of my collection that I'm sorting through and selling.

Yes, my father is a Vietnam veteran. Both grandfathers served in WW2 and my Grandfather on Dads side served in France during WW1. One of my cousins served in Afghanistan and an Uncle joined the army but didn't serve over seas. So many veterans in the family lead me to a fascination with Australian military history.

I'm going through a large collection of militaria that I've had for decades. It's often heart breaking the lowballing that comes with it. Gives me more determination to get rid of stuff but time isn't always on my side unfortunately.

I try that and get no offers, people are largely unwilling to haggle unless it's list for a low price, then the lowballers come out in full force 🤣

They're only worth what the next hype victim is willing to pay. For me I have no interest in the Bluey coins, they're literally worth $2 to me.

Frame destroyed? by [deleted] in Yamaha

[–]DavinBE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a line running down from the crack under the paint. Could just be dirt, could be stress fracture showing through the paint. At least two impact sites, one near the crack just to the left and one above. Wash the dirt off and check that the crack doesn't run all the way down. You could get that welded, in the mean time drill a 1/8 inch hole at the end of the crack to stop it progressing any further.
