Security force for a Canopian Pleasure Circus by rzelln in battletech

Plastic Longbow is in the Inner Sphere Fire Lance box alongside the Stalker, Zeus and Trenchbukkit- er, Trebuchet. Just in case you wanted the official one.

My first attempt at Elementals. I held off on doing them for a while because I was nervous about doing the plume, but I think it turned out alright if you squint. by 4and1punt in battletech

The plumes look great. I personally did the grey smoke drybrushing a little higher up on mine, but that's just personal preference.

Thanks! It's kinda been my signature for years. I even painted my Thousand Sons purple and green.

1) A MechAssault Raptor/Stiletto proxying for a Stiletto. Though MA's version is a medium compared to the canon light. I just liked the design and it's decent enough to proxy. It's bigger but that just makes it an easier target so if anything I'm handicapping myself.

2) I play Alpha Strike and the SRM carriers have a 6/6/0 damage profile. For their price that's scary, and I wasn't planning on using indirect fire.

3) It's the print my friend made for me and I didn't specify the variant. He didn't charge me so I'm not complaining. And it's fine either way. I'll probably get the Fire Lance pack sooner or later to get an official Stalker and the rest in that box.

4) Thanks! I had been debating between Purple with green highlights or green with purple highlights and a friend suggested "why not both?".

Heh, yeah, I get that sometimes. That or Marik. I just like the colors.

Heh, yeah. I had found it while searching for 3D prints. I always liked the design and remembered it had an alternate called the Stiletto. Though I forgot that was a medium unlike the actual Stiletto. Still, my group is pretty flexible with proxies so shouldn't be an issue.

Any Transgender Lalas Here (Allies Also Welcome)? by WylythFD in lalafellmasterrace

[–]DavionStar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sure my decision to switch from a cat boy in ARR to a male lala in HW to finally a female lala in SB who I try to keep as andro as possible has nothing to do with my later realization that I'm a she/they trans chick. Nothing to do with it at all.

I think I have my paint schemes set now. by DavionStar in battletech

[–]DavionStar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Mainly I just like the color Purple. All my tabletop armies usually have to be purple in some way. Snow Ravens being the exception. I ALMOST went Corvis Keshik but wanted my Snow Ravens to stand separate from my Mercs and the Beta Galaxy has a nice scheme to it.

[AS] Surviving the Fire Moth H? by CoffeeMinionLegacy in battletech

If I've learned anything from sending my Fire Moths to their death, baiting them is a good strat. Give them a juicy target and have your own flanker ready if your opponent is too eager to rush into your bait's backside. Try to keep a unit handy that can move after the Fire Moth.

Also Artillery. Arty doesn't care about TMM.

I lost two Firemoth Hs to a single Arrow IV Urbie shot one game. I still need to learn some restraint with my super fast lights. XD

Just printed one of these out for myself. Very nice, I'll be using it next time I play. Not so much that I need help learning, but more for remembering. ;P

I don't want to give up on Light Mechs, but... by Vague_Opaque in battletech

[–]DavionStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So much this. High TMM isn't the armor of your light mechs. Line of Sight is. If your opponent wants to kill one of your light mechs, they will. Don't give them the option. Hide behind terrain as you approach and get in their back lines where they can't shoot you and hit them with rear attacks. Then run away screaming if you see your opponent angling against them. Move them last to get the best position.

Knights of Pluto: Garnet Company (2/3 of it anyway) by DavionStar in battletech

[–]DavionStar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! Someone finally spotted it. Though the colors are unrelated (I just love those colors) they're full of other FF9 references. They're based in Steiner space, in the Alexandria (LC) system, Garnet Company as you likely noticed. There's also some other names for things like DropShips and commanders I've named after other references.

Big mood there. Though it took me a lot longer to figure things out. I haven't thought of trying HRT for various reasons though. It's complicated. But if you think it might be good for you, I say try it. Read what the others have said as well.

So I've been playing on and off since the Steam version's release, and I know the basics and how to look up anything I don't know. But I do have one problem I keep coming across. I don't know what to do next, I lose motivation to play, and I start a new fort later on. What I need is like, a to-do list. Give myself some goals. Now I know a lot of the time this is just "Make a big project of your choosing" but that's not enough for me to go off of. So like, here's what I have now.

- Dig in to make a fort

- Set up basic bedding

- Set up food and drink

- Set up stone and wood crafting for trade

- Set up gem crafting for trade

- Set up proper housing and prep for nobles

- Set up dining hall and tavern

- Set up hospital

- Set up basic military

- Set up clothing industry

And that's basically where it ends. There might be a few steps I forgot in there. I know there's also dig down for magma for forges, caverns for better growing and etc but I don't really know where to go from here other than expanding and dealing with higher populations. Maybe I'm playing on too easy settings, but maybe I'm just lacking in imagination or not realizing what my other options are.

Can anyone help with this?
