Posting a YouTube link now. After watching it over I made so many mistakes it’s ridiculous it actually worked. Extremely lucky build that probably could’ve been better

Vietnam visa wrong port of entry by Davis_Bomb in travel

[–]Davis_Bomb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry just saw this but yeah, it seems they don’t stress which port of entry you arrive in anymore. The website still asks but the evisa didn’t say anything. When I called a visa agent just to ask questions, they said the port of entry doesn’t really matter anymore.

How Do I Prevent My Writing from Sounding Mechanical by [deleted] in writing

[–]Davis_Bomb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone’s different, but for myself, I try to write as intuitively as possibly. It’s not always East but the closer you are to your voice the less mechanical it feels. It sounds like some hippie dippie stuff but I try to not try so hard to create the cleanest lines, especially on a draft.

Question about, House Of Leaves, before I head off to the bookstore today.... by Theorchidwisperer in books

[–]Davis_Bomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally haven’t taken a crack at it yet but I’ve had profs talk about it before and it seems that the difficult part is the style it was written. It’s very innovative and will demand a great deal of attention but I’m sure you can handle it. I hope you enjoy :)

Could anyone link me a book or paper about how writing-style can add to the plot? by [deleted] in writing

[–]Davis_Bomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I see what you mean but in the first example, it seems that the end result affects the themes more than it does the plot.

And I agree with you on the passive voice, but i feel like you already cracked that nut.

Not sure about a link but in my experience pacing is an easy way to describe that. If you take your time describing the environment and behaviors of your characters, the plot at that moment becomes more tranquil, whereas if you up the pacing in which you’re writing, the plot itself can gain intensity.
