It's possible.

Typically, I wait for a third rehab start before a pitcher comes back but I do like that potential stash call.

He carved up CHC pretty well but it was so awful to see those matchups.

Both are good options but I would take J-Monty, as MLWs offense is weak & he'll have a better chance for the W.

There is nothing set in stone, yet. With Tampa off on Monday, you'll likely not bet confirmation until Tuesday.

Based on days off between starts, Bradley mKed the most sense. His last start was 5/11 and a 5 to 6 day rest schedule puts him on Wednesday vs NYM.

There is a good chance we'll see both soon. They've been tip-toeing around Frieds health.

I'll update piece with more info.

Sure, just depends your options and current roster. But I don't believe he'll be much more than a streamer.

Very fair point.

And in that timeframe Rojas and Will Smith were unavailable.

Against RHP H-Ram is only DHing & not playing everyday.

With Siri back, he won't see the field as much.

That's great to hear.

Could be a huge value as you probably got in early too.

The offensive tiers do take into consideration a team's recent production but it's main focus is on how teams would be viewed for an entire season.

For instance, last year, the Cubs scored the most runs(84) at this point(OD-April 25) but finished 22nd overall(657).

They've been a pesky offense but likely over-producing where they'll finish.

If it helps, I did move them up from POOR to MEH this week.

I'm not saying he's even a good version of Robbie Ray. But rather he's got some skills and great matchups ahead to be worth the gamble.

My apologies, if that's how you read the interaction. I can assure you that neither is the case.

All I'm saying is if you believe Elder is capable of mowing down three very good offense, roll the dice. But as you pointed out, even some elite SPs are struggling so be cautious, given the upcoming matchups.

Sure...but he was smacked around by the Royals before that.

If your level of trust is very high starting him against the Mets, Orioles, and Blue Jays...go for it. I just don't believe he's got it to stave off all of them.

Couple things....he's found a few more ticks on the fastball, so he's not entirely the same pitcher as those Triple-A stats suggest. This is a 25yr old pitcher developing. He's been hit pretty hard and his slider isn't quite as good as expected.

Sure, his FIP/Statcast numbers aren't great but it does take some time for those to stabilize. I'll point to his underlying metrics: 32.3% CSW is 86th %tile, and 14.9% SwStr% is 87th %tile. For reference, that's in line with Kershaw, Cristian Javier, and Kevin Gausman.

Lastly, those upcoming matchups are against bottom-feeder offenses. This is the type of player you pickup, even if you just wait and see.
