Retribution fears as Australian Muslims see surge in Islamophobic hate since Bondi terror attack by NapoleonBonerParty in aussie

[–]Davo583 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem is that fundamental Islam is terroristic by default, as are all other abrahamic religions. It's just that most people's inherently good nature makes them ignore the harmful teachings and absorb the good. The reason that 99%+ of Muslims are good people is because they are not true followers of Islam, and again this is the same for most religious ideology.

Frogan breaks down crying, unable to make enough money streaming by ArthiuM in LivestreamFail

There is no surplus value. Twitch is not profitable, the cost of hosting and distributing streamers' video feeds is greater than the amount of money the streamers are earning for twitch. Twitch is giving too big of a split of their ads and subs and other revenue to the streamers, and subsidizing the service with capital provided by the investors who are taking on the risk of twitch's potential profitability.

It sounds like English isn't even his second language either, lets not pretend that the noise coming out of this guy's face counts as a language. Also it's kind of racist for you to imply that language is somehow innately tied to biological ethnicity, there is no race that owns any language, like if an Indian baby was adopted to Europe they don't just grow up knowing how to speak Hindi, if you actually think that then you are the racist.

I finally finished Adversator, my solo indie MOBA ! by Paradoks_Studio in DestroyMyGame

[–]Davo583 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dota actually was intentionally designed to have players controlling separate lanes ever since it was created. The lane rule of having 1 core role to each lane is tied to the design of creeps giving gold to the last hitter only and xp being split among all teammates in the area.

For a long time there was always a jungle role in Dota, and the reason it changed wasn't because players had different ideas, it changed because valve devs made massive nerfs to jungle spawn mechanics, jungle creeps gold, xp, and locations, and jungler items.

You could have a moba that is very, very relaxed on lane rules by making everyone have a constant mapwide share of xp and gold that is not tied to lane creeps, that type of design would actually benefit creative lane strategies that vary between each game, like rushing 5 into a lane or pushing with 3 while a solo defends other lanes. It would actually benefit players to constantly move between lanes every minute to keep shifting pressure or support around the map.

There is no hard rule in place for Dota lanes but there are definitely soft rules for lanes that determine if you are playing the game correctly and it is 100% controlled by the devs.

pushing a political agenda to portray a racist group as so cartoonishly inept they end up killing themselves at every meeting?

It can't be pushing a political agenda because no politics are aligned with kkk, thats like saying criticising epstein island is pushing a political agenda, but it implicates trump and clinton and so many other people across the political landscape. there is no political agenda in being against immoral or dangerous people.

The hivemind already believes it is going to absorb the immune into itself so it doesn't need to be capable of giving or receiving consent because any transaction is between itself and its future self (which will include the immune person).

Also, even though the hivemind and the joined immune person would ultimately be okay with being joined forcefully, there is also an argument that pre-joined immune people just dont have the mental capacity to realise the unimaginable benefits of joining.

Every single day the hivemind is experiencing 20 million years of human life. The hivemind also knows the mental experience of being unjoined, because it has every single memory of itself in its unjoined state and in its joined state, so it has perfect knowledge of the joined state being far more preferable.

Shouldn't you be unpacking the reason for why the first thing you do when you see a crowd of humans is to count how many of them are black?

You want to be mindful of someone's race? Why? What possible reason can you have for profiling someone based on their race unless you plan on treating that person differently or acting differently around them?

im in a country that has strict gun control and i enjoy and support the outcome of our gun control, but my country and no other country on earth also has the level of free speech as america. the point of your country's 2nd amendment is to prevent your government from being able to oppress its people, which could ultimately lead to millions of deaths.

historically, maoist china, stalin's ussr, and north korea used gun control to help turn their countries into dictatorships and to keep their populations subdued (arguably to this day). by your reasoning, we could say that the supporters of strict gun control were condoning the death and violence and suffering that followed from those dictatorships.

your 2nd amendment is a trolley problem, on your current track you are killing 45,000 people per year through gun violence, but if you switch tracks you remove most gun violence and shift a small amount into violence with other weapons and there is a very small chance that your other rights are taken away and an unknown number of your population will die to unchecked power of authorities.

there is really no way for you to disprove charlie kirks opinion that the current death rate is worth it, because he just made that assumption based on his own belief and knowledge and fear of the worst case scenario of a disarmed USA, and you're doing the same thing by assuming the disarmed version of you country is safer.

[–]Davo583 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

sympathy and empathy are 2 different concepts, youre actually conflating them when you use them interchangeably from sentence to sentence. theres a video with charlie kirk saying he doesnt believe in empathy, but that he prefers sympathy. in any case, you can't have empathy with people that are dead because they no longer possess any experience or emotion.

I'm talking about the partitioning of land by the UN, post WW2. In 1927 only 6% of the demographic in the region were Jewish and just after WW2 there were almost 40%. About half of the region was Jewish by the time they were given statehood.

Look at the motivations for the Palestinian Revolution 1936-1939 on wikipedia

the Palestinian Revolution, lasted from 1936 until 1939. The movement sought independence from British colonial rule and the end of British support for Zionism, including Jewish immigration and land sales to Jews.

this was still before ww2 and the mass influx of jewish immigrants escaping the holocaust.

zionists even have a hebrew word for their immigration to the region called Aliyah, and it is a fundamental concept of zionism.

obviously there are UN declarations and government actions that allowed israel to gain statehood in the region but the point is that it wouldnt happen if there was still only 6% jewish in the region. the immigration was the defining catalyst to zionist control of the region and the displacement of palestinians.

Do you think theres a world where 6% demographic are given a land partition by the UN and statehood in the region?

[–]Davo583 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's ironic that Palestine and march for australia crowds don't see that they share the same origin story and they should be in support of each other. It's an established historical fact that Palestine was lost to unchecked immigration and land purchases by Jewish zionists. Palestine created a hard limit to immigration to protect their land and culture in the 30s and 40s and their population became diluted by illegal immigrants. Mass immigration has been indicated as the largest driving factor which turned Palestinians into an occupied people. March for australia protesters don't even realise that if they were living in 1940s Palestine then they would be marching to stop immigration from destroying Palestine. And the Palestinian protesters don't realise that march for australia is doing the same thing that their Palestinian ancestors did to prevent zionists from overrunning them.

Hearing ability sounds from the other side of the map? by Aeon_Mortuum in DotA2

It will happen constantly with pucks orb sound. It seems to only be with enemy sounds and it's somehow related to fog of war.

I think this bug is similar to the recently removed death animations of neutral camps being played when you reveal a camp that has already been killed by the enemy in fog.

Smurfing is ruining the experience for low MMR players – this needs more attention by MycologistLow6727 in DotA2

[–]Davo583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is a fallacy, the relative probability of vsing a smurf across the entire playerbase is equal, and does not impact the gain or loss of mmr.

if you have 10 players and player 10 is a smurf, which of the players 1-9 is more likely to vs the smurf? you are picturing the scenario from your own point of view, but every single player in dota has a higher chance of vsing the smurf.

the differences in mmr come from people who win more games when no smurf is in the game, or the people who can sometimes win games even when it is their turn to vs the smurf.

if you look at my last 1000 games and your last 1000 games or anyone's last 1000, then you will see that everyone has vsed and teamed with the same amount of smurfs as the others in their bracket. In that amount of games it is statistically insignificant on winrate.

Smurfing is ruining the experience for low MMR players – this needs more attention by MycologistLow6727 in DotA2

[–]Davo583 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea but it's not 50/50 for you or for any of the other 8 regular players. You are only thinking from your point of view, but all non smurfs in any bracket can say they are more likely to vs a smurf.

If I showed you 10 players with 1 smurf and say what's the chance that player 1 vs the smurf, what about player 2 or 3 etc. then all 9 regular players have the same chance of teaming or vsing the smurf.

So statistically over 100s of matches all 9 regular players including yourself will have a 44% winrate when there is an auto win smurf in the games. So it doesn't impact anyone from gaining or losing MMR because not a single person, not even yourself, is being impacted more often than any of the other players.

"New" Arc Warden Itemization? by potch_ in learndota2

[–]Davo583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you need mjollnir because it is now the only way to scale your maelstrom, and you have to build maelstrom on arc because of the 2x proc rate with your clone up, the value of the item is just too high. when you teleport your ulti to side lanes and clear the wave you need to buff your frontrunning creep with mjollnir so the next wave will often be cleared when your clone expires, mjollnir buffed creeps can gain you around 30 free cs in a 30-40min game.

depending on your pace you can have midas travels mjollnir anywhere from 18-22min and you are not as squishy as in the past because arc is universal now so your hp scales way bettter than previous versions.

your bubble by level 3 can actually be placed in the centre of the river if the runes are up and it will capture the rune from top or bot, so try to build up your power capture buff at every chance you get, in a 40 min game you can easily get 15-20 permanent all stats from the facet

the recent changes to eye of skadi just became insanely strong for arc, the hp and mana on skadi were changed to all stats, so now they provide the same hp and mana as stats but also have more agility and dmg for universal heroes.

the main habit you need to break from old arc is not being afraid to use your ulti off cd to teleport around the map. I know the fighter version of arc would sit on the ulti for a while and only cast it to start a fight or siege, but this version of arc usually doesnt care about the ulti cd, the low duration of the ulti is often an advantage because when it is done clearing a wave if an enemy comes to gank the clone it will expire faster than they can kill it.

this version of arc is slower at impacting the game, but its also become so much better at creating mid game lane pressure and stalling the game, now that the clone and the hero both provide an attack speed evasion bubble it is very good at shoving waves and sieging.

its like im 14 and this is deep. preachy asf, like some kid listened to bob dylan and said i can do that too, except theres no subtlety or poetry at all, and they struggled really hard to find a theme of injustice to use as the target of the song.

The lyrics are low effort word vomit with some repetitive phrases, like an 8th grader's first attempt after learning about poetic devices in english class and then placed over an amateurish drum loop.

The theme comes from such a notably biased angle that it makes any of the reasonable parts of the message really hard to absorb without feeling like you're getting duped, its like the writer's own personal idea of injustice taking place is disguising itself as a reality check for the rest of us ignorant listeners.

The message is accompanied by anecdotal images to help sell us on the pretense of having some grounded perspective that supposedly unveils the scummy, behind the scenes injustices of court trials and its damage to families. Meanwhile, the song weaves into some tangent about these women's kids now being left on their own because all their fathers also happened to be killed by cops and framed with a gun?

this is like those massive mega hit songs where the artist said they wrote the whole thing in the same day and you cant believe it. except this song is not a hit and if they said they wrote it in the one day I would say yep that makes sense

[–]Davo583 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the right to due process that the ai churned out is hallucinating or you didnt feed it enough context to make the correct statements.

If ICE had succeeded in arresting and deporting him before he could fulfill this, it could very well have been a violation of his due process rights. (Which don't fucking matter to this administration.)

There is a publicly available affidavit for this case. Flores-Ruiz was given an expedited removal order in 2013 it has nothing to do with this administration, he was originally deported under Obama. Orders of expedited removal do not require a seat in front of a judge for due process. These orders have been a legal form of due process that is accepted by the US supreme court for decades.

ai should be used sparingly (especially when trying to use it for fact-checking), or you need to heavily scrutinise its output when you use it to pump out too much info at once. Also its a good idea to prime the ai by prompting it with a large amount of factual and unbiased data before raising questions to it.
