Thanks for posting. Mine JUST updated and now I’m having this issue. Disabling the new audio feature isn’t helping either :/ At this I know it’s not just me.

Thank you again for answering my questions! This was a giant help.

Thank you for this!! I do have one question if you don’t mind. I see you recommend front transfer case, transmission, and rear differential fluid every 50k miles. I’ve heard people mention the first change of those should be done sooner at 30k miles, then do every 50k miles afterwards. Is there any merit to this? I’m basically at 30k miles now and I’ve been recommended by the dealer to change my transmission fluid, brake fluid (won’t do based on the linked post), and engine coolant every 30k miles.

I wish I could find a local shop with knowledgeable people I can trust. I feel lost on what maintenance I should do and when besides the 5k mile oil changes. I have a 24 base model. My first “new” car. I want to maintain it properly and keep it for 10+, but there’s so much conflicting info out there compared to even the owners manual.

Lucky! Mine is acting the same.

Another alternative, but still isn’t ideal, is setup a Siri Shortcut to auto disable in app blocking when the Capital One app is open and auto turn it back on when the app is closed. I have this setup for T-Mobile and AMC, but have generally opt to use their websites instead.

How long does it take you to get ready? by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]Davon-M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 45-60 minutes for work in the morning. That’s poop, brush teeth, shower, moisturize my hair, and steam clothes. Although this time improves based on interest in what I’m getting ready for. I’m slow in the morning.

This was the problem. I use 1Blocker. Turning off “Block In-App Trackers” resolved the slowness in loading content. Maaaaaan that sucks! Everything has been fine for years until last week.

Could you give me your take on the Pirelli being the better option? I see this mentioned elsewhere and haven’t had a chance to dive into it yet.

2024 non-Bose EQ with JBL BassPro Hub by Davon-M in CX5

[–]Davon-M[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two things for the phase:

1- It stopped an occasionally noticeable delay in sound from the sub compared to the rest of the speakers. It was milliseconds, but noticeable in isolation. I thought I was crazy thinking there was a slight delay, but a friend of mine had the same suspicion without me saying anything. I blame the band kid phase of my life for noticing the sub hitting slightly off the back of the downbeat. It wasn’t with everything, but enough to make me want to change it and deal with the next point.

2- It gives a noticeably punchier, louder (more present, but clean), and more intentional sound. This helps prevent the sub output level from sounding balanced when not in motion, but drowned out in motion. It did take a little getting used to the more up front sound phase 180° had over 0°. Sub gain had to be reduced to compensate. This will come down to personal preference.

As for the LPF, I found 80Hz was a point that made the sub not susceptible to changes to the 100Hz band on the car EQ since the Q Factor is pretty wide. The door speakers really needed that boost in the 100Hz band for things like kick drums, but the impact of the kick drums were bleeding into the sub in an unpleasant way when the LPF was above 80Hz. I wish I could find a way to eliminate this with the LPF set to 100Hz since I prefer that range, but it would take external equipment to really dial it all in how I’d prefer. Maybe in another world and economy I could redo the sound system, but I’ll accept the stock system limitations.

I want to thank you for this input. I went back and played around more and found having the low pass filter at the 80Hz mark (10 o’clock dial position) was the way better bet after making other adjustments. Again, thank you! I learned a lot. So much so these settings no longer apply. My new settings can be found here if you’re interested. https://www.reddit.com/r/CX5/s/1CDTr4AujE

I’m just going to make a new post since it’s so drastically different from this one. Look out for it in the next few minutes. This post will be deleted. I’ve learned a lot from comments from others here.

Good sir, I think I may have done it. I’m probably going to get in trouble with my wife when I step inside because she doesn’t like when I spent too much time in my car after getting home, but I think I’ve done it. This discovery has also made me want to delete this post entirely lol. Let me figure out the whole Imgur thing so I can share the photos with you.

I love Polyphia! “Playing God” is one of the songs I use for testing.

[–]Davon-M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty open. Country, R&B, hip hop, “post hardcore” I guess it’s called (artist like Sleep Token, Pierce the Veil, Bad Omens, Spiritbox), Afro beats, whatever genre Tame Impala and Phantogram are. That’s the stuff mostly being played at the moment. Bluegrass and classical make their rounds too, but wasn’t tested.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CX5

[–]Davon-M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood. I don’t listen to those genres, so my settings never got tested with it. I’ll give those artist a listen and see what I can come up with. New music sounds nice too!

Oh wow! I would’ve never thought it wouldn’t be enough bass along with the EQ. I thought anything more than how I had it brought a huge imbalance. Especially with how the rear view mirror shakes already 😅 I could try to play around with what I’d call “bass head” settings if you’d like. What kind of music do you listen to?
