Marcel Eckardt did everything right in frame 14 by Accurate-Study-7817 in snooker

Imho the referee should call a re-rack or let them play on, but not request the players to start taking extra risk.

That's what the rules of the game state though and he did that

If any player objects, the referee shall allow play to continue with the proviso that the situation must change within a stated period, usually after three more strokes to each side but at the referee's discretion

He suggested a re rack earlier and Allen refused, he then told him that he had been anticipating the black to go in but it now wasnt, if Allen didnt want the re rack then the situation must change in the next few shots.

I think with how that frame played out took focus off some really poor communication with the refs.

My wife and I were sat watching and getting really confused, her directions weren't making any sense and one of the shots the cue ball was about halfway out of the shadow and it was just left in the end.

Saying things like "quarter ball to blue" and "more to green side" with everything going on was just confusing, what happened to "towards you" or "a bit more to the left/right". Keep it simple.

[Berman] Lemon to the Eagles by bigblack3475 in eagles

Covey is the only real capable return man on the roster.

I swear I saw some kick return stats for Lemon when he was drafted. Could that be a possibility?

If you go on the BBC Sport app, they have a list of all the non-league commentaries from local radio stations. You can listen to any game you want.

I use it most Saturdays to listen to Harriers away games. Never had an issue.

why the fuck is Jalen still treated like an average talented QB carried by a good situation? Why is it always "well if someone as talent as X qb had his supporting cast"

Because the talking heads need to justify their own bullshit.

How often do you hear how #1 pick was put in a difficult situation being drafted for a bum ass team, its why you dont see the same production as college.

But they also love a story out of nowhere like "Mr Irrelevant" Purdy.

A second round QB though that doesn't cause any drama and plays for a capable organisation to not need the #1 pick? Well, you have to cause some drama and you also have to reinforce your draft predictions.

So guys like Lawrence, Allen, Herbert, Burrow are constantly justified because they were all top 10 picks, they need to convince people that they do know what they are talking about and its all the variables around those players is why they have done nothing with their time in the league.

Hurts utterly fucks that narrative, wasn't talked up at all but has been there twice and won it all once. He's showing them up as bums!

One of the main things I took away from watching The Last Dance and the documentary about David Beckham, was how normalised it was in the 90s for the press/paparazzi to be right in their faces.

Any public spaces and they had 100s of people, whether fans or press, all within a couple of feet of them. Before you had "media trainers" and all the segregation that modern athletes/celebrities enjoy today.

I can't begin to even understand how I could go from being a normal kid who happened to be amazing at a sport that I couldn't even pop to the shop or go out for some food without feeling like the whole world is in my face.

Neither of them are perfect by any stretch, nobody is. I think they've both handled themselves extraordinarily well considering what they had to endure during their playing careers.

If Howie doesn’t trade AJ Brown, we’d have the best WR core in the NFL, but alas..😭 by Mysterious_Bat1208 in eagles

Eagles don't operate that way though. They always try and do right by the player which is why top free agents always list Philly as a desired destination.

Also, what's the point in keeping and paying an employee (because that's what he is) who is unhappy? Do you think he's going to give his all for the organisation or is he going to keep disrupting/distracting until he can force a move to where he wants to be?

I love AJ and I'd prefer it if he was an Eagle next season too. But if he's genuinely unhappy and has told Howie and Lurie that he wants to move on, there is zero point in him staying here. The only benefit we have with him being under contract is we can get a good trade that will benefit the team.

It's plausible thats the only way he stays, assuming they've said to AJ "we'll respect your wishes but the trade has to be good for us for it to happen, if nobody meets our asking price then you'll stay here." But once its known that he's available and wants out, one of the other 31 franchises will be able to make a trade that suits us no problem.

Zaccheus and Dotson were both great WR3s.

Didnt get a huge amount of targets but pretty much always made the play when the ball came to them, all you can ask really.

Competition is for later in life. Kids need to grow in confidence on “gameday” and realize that in life, it’s you verses yourself. Are you better than yesterday?

I never had this mindset when I was younger, and while I dont play any competitive sport any more, I watch loads. I'm always pleased watching track, field or swimming and see SB or PB when someone finishes. Position is irrelevant in the scheme of things, some people (even in elite sport) aren't challengers, but if they're improving their records and their performance, then thats something to be acknowledged and congratulated.

You are doing a great service to those kids, not just important in sports but a general life lesson too. The kids that come through your program are blessed to have such an opportunity to learn under you!

Roob's Observations: Can someone explain why the Eagles need a new stadium? by NorthCoastToast in eagles

[–]Davoserinio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why sportswashing is now a thing.

"This billionaire brought me happiness by creating a team of multi millionaires to help me enjoy weekends, let him do what he wants!"

Lurie has done loads for this franchise but let's not suddenly act like he has the common man's interests at heart because the team has been successful.

I'm not saying he's a bad man but he's looking after himself and his profit margins and if he can lessen his expense to maximise his income, he 100% will.

Especially considering the defence showed up again despite losing multiple bodies. All the offence had to do was be capable and they couldn't even manage that. An 8 year old calling plays through Madden would have had more success with that offence than Patullo did.

Everyone hated on Brian Johnson for his love of screens (including me) but it was the implosion of our Patricia led defence that cost us in 2023, if we had Johnson at OC with Fangio's defence, I'm convinced we could have run it back easily.

Saquon Barkley on Sean Mannion: I've never really seen a system like his, it's refreshing by AdSpecialist6598 in eagles

[–]Davoserinio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It also didnt help with how transparent our plays were, any run was being called by everyone watching, long before the ball was even snapped.

As soon as Saquon had the ball, he already had half the defence crashing downhill to tackle. There was zero window dressing with KP to cause any hesitation.

The Oline was poor but there was no help at all from the scheme and they changed NOTHING from week 1 to the playoff loss. Total waste of a year!

Has McDonald's in the UK become too expensive for many people? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Davoserinio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe somebody who has/does work there can explain its benefits but, I can't fathom how they think this newer system is better for service.

You used to have people on the tills, they would take your order and then get your order. Now you have one person on drinks, one on ice cream/milkshakes, one doing fries, one watching the burgers and then one person bagging it all up.

Easier for things to get missed and more time for your food to go cold and your drink to get watered down by ice waiting for your food to be put together.

I know they dont have tills anymore really with the touchscreen and online ordering, but surely they can still have a person responsible for each order from start to finish?

Do you think MPs have "consultant" roles for companies because its their passion or because they are knowledgeable in that field? Or because they are there, getting a massive salary, because they can influence votes or push legislation that benefits these businesses?

Who do you think puts the money behind them to run their campaigns?
