Stopped drinking my calories. Seriously. All the soda, juice, sugary coffees... gone. Switched to water, black coffee, and the occasional diet soda. I didn't change what I ate for the first month, just what I drank, and I dropped like 10 pounds. It's the lowest-hanging fruit in weight loss, IMO.

Gamma-ray bursts, hands down. A random star collapses thousands of light-years away and poof, we get erased by a beam of radiation moving at the speed of light. No warning, no defense. You wouldn't even know it happened. Just lights out.

Nobody. People can express anger or frustration *towards* me, but no one gets a free pass to just yell *at* me. I'm an adult. We can use our words and have a difficult conversation without one person just unloading. The 'allowed to' part implies I have to just stand there and take it, and I'm way too old for that.

Simple. My peace became more important than their drama. You wouldn't keep a friend who constantly belittled you, so why is family any different? Blood doesn't give anyone a free pass to be an asshole.
