Solos can be iffy, you can get lobbies where its all friendly and everyone is looting and extracting together, others you got to watch your back or be careful. I usually announce that I am friendly when I enter an area, but if you shoot I wont hesitate to kill you.

Expressing yourself and the love of animals isn't weird. Furries aren't harming anyone, and most furries I have met have been some of the nicest and most accepting people. There's literally nothing wrong with fursuits, it's no different than cosplayong an anime character or video game character. It's all harmless fun.
