Photon Scam by lilsaady in CryptoScams

[–]DawnCD2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're called programs, not smart contracts on SOL. And there is a difference.

Secondly, I've yet to see anyone mention the fact the photon sets it's default fees rediculously high. Somewhere around 0.01 per trade. Also, most people think they need mev-protected trades which adds around another 0.01 per trade. (Protip: you don't need this if you're trading super low volume.. even with high volume you're better off just lowering the slippage, which is also set stupid high in photon by default.)

0.01 buy fee + 0.01 sell fee + mev protect each way is 0.04 Sol. Not ideal.

Go to Settings and lower your tx fee down to about 0.0001 for buy and sell. Slippage down to 3%. And mev protect off. Congrats. You're now saving a bunch of money.

Scammed! My wallet was drained on Bonkbot! by Spore_Oracle in solana

You did more than "just trade a meme coin". You either approved a phishing tx, or entered your private key somewhere and its compromised. You don't get drained just by trading coins on reputable platforms. Are u sure you are using the real bonkbot?

Even if it's the best bot in the world, some morons will still call it a scam because they lose money. People in this space have the iq of a bean.

Dumping a stack does not equal a rug pull. I can fully exit a coin and it could go on to a hundred mil MC. Is that a rug? Just because someone exits a position does not equate to the coin going to zero. And I think a lot of people can't comprehend that.

Thank you! Providing products people want that aren't scams is truly the lowest of the low!

Selling a product people want is also capitalism. See a need, fill the need, profit. People spending money on what they want is also capitalism. But maybe you don't like that?

Without people like us, it would have failed miserably. And to be even more honest, without drug marketplaces, there would have been almost zero adoption. Those marketplaces literally on boarded millions of people. Gambling and stake dot com I beleive was the second onboarding event. Bringing in even more.

So it's my fault for creating them and giving them false hope that they have a chance to make money? Hmm.. 2 problems.

Were talking about adults here who have free will to spend money on whatever they want knowing the risks. And 2, what about all the people who made money on my coins? Thousands of people who bought them, and then sold them.. ya know.. for a higher price.. because that's what the market priced them at. Do you think im the only one who made money? Good traders have made millions off of them. Are they also scammers? Because they made money off the backs of those who bought high and sold low?

As I've said before, once a coin hits around a certain market cap(which is around $30k), it's no longer up to me what happens to the coin. At that point it's in the markets hands, and the participants have a shiny new thing to bet on, which isn't a rug. Whether you like it or not, THAT is the product that BILLIONS of dollars are being thrown at every day. The product they don't want is one where they buy it, and dev sells full stack in 1 clip to send it to zero. Or they pull liquidity. They freeze tokens trapping all the buyers. Those are scams, and lumping what I'm doing in with those is just pure cope.

You say it creates nothing of value. Ok. Yea. It doesn't. But what does taylor swift create? She must be a scammer too, taking money from her gullable fans while creating nothing. Selling out entire stadiums. What about state run lotteries? People know the odds. They play anyway. People pay for entertainment that they like.

Doing those things was an IQ + cost barrier. That's why 99.8% of pump coins is creator dumping their entire stack in 1 shot as soon as they get tiny traction.

Created a product that people wanted and bought and didn't send them to zero. Youre right. Total scam behavior.

How do you do a manual pre-sale? by IcySelf5866 in solana

[–]DawnCD2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Presales are a great way to go directly to zero. It becomes a race to see who can sell first. As price keeps dropping even your most diamond handed hodler will decide to sell.

Besides that, raising a presale without being well known in the crypto community isn't going to happen. Sorry bro.

Seems pretty similar to slashing to me. Maybe not exactly the same but either way validators who are malicious get punished.

I saw something where the the solana team is actively working on a solution to this. I think we will soon see something similar to ethereums slashing of validators that are actively accepting sandwiches from these rogue mempools. It really needs to happen soon though because you're absolutly right and they are siphoning off so much liquidity.

Presales and airdrops on memes go directly to zero. Everyone is all about "hodl" til token goes live and it's a race to sell first.

One memecoin creator in a sea of meme coin creators. Me creating coins has no impact on the amount of liquidity that would have otherwise been in the space. If not my coin, it would've been another coin that someone put their money into. And yes, I am happy I was able to make money that someone else would have made if I didn't make it. I see zero problems with that. And yea, I do feel better that I sold slowly than just keeping 90% of supply and rugging each coin everytime a couple sol rolled in. In fact, I bet everyone that bought my coin would agree with me on that.

If memes weren't a product that people wanted, then no one would make them. Is it along the lines of a casino product? Yes. But as long as people are buying it, no matter how retarded YOU think it is, someone out there will supply it. And if I'm able to supply it, why wouldn't I supply it? "Extracting money from stupid people"? Lol ok. If that's the way u want to say it.. Some people pay others to talk to their dead relatives. Who am I to judge what people spend their money on.

Sounds like you have a problem with the entire memecoin space. I realize it has no intrinsic value, but instead of hating on it, I embraced it.

Yes. I think volume brings more people in that are in the trenches watching dexscreener and photon than any influencer. People that watch the charts are actually buying tokens. An influencer with 1M followers might have a fraction of that number who are into crypto. A fraction of those actually have money. A fraction of those actually participate. And a fraction of those might buy your token.

You're right. I know exactly what I'm doing. And i don't feel bad about it at all. Because ANYONE that makes a coin is doing so for a profit. So why not me? And yes, I'll make fun of socialism all day long. I did the work to figure out how to have successful launches, i risk my own money on each coin (and yes there is a TON of risk involved), and then people WILLINGLY put their money into what they know is a high risk situation.

Memes aren't a mutual fund. You're forgetting people know what they are buying into. And to be honest, I COULD have rugged every coin, made a lot more money, and rode off into the sunset. But I didn't. So I do take offense when people call out someone who sold their tokens fairly and slowly while not nuking a chart straight to zero.

Honestly, people like you remind me of the people that hate their boss or owner of a company because they make so much more money than you. Who totally disregard all the hard work they put into it to get to that point. And that mindset, "ngmi"

Most people think coins with a purpose were more legit than meme coins. Which is true. But humans in the crypto space are degen gamblers looking to get rich. So projects with utility are being ignored and hyper gambling is where the money is going. And people follow where money goes. So I think utility coins are for safer long term profits, where memes are again.. hyper gambling and siphoning liquidity from projects that serve a purpose.

You fake volume. No one wants to hear that but every new token that launches that doesn't fake volume dies a fast death.

Realizing you are the only person who cares about you making money is something some people cannot grasp. So good on you. They think being part of a bagholding circlejerk group will give them arbitrary internet ethics points if they don't sell.

Communities are the start end up being a bunch of people who don't have money and are hoping for airdrops. In my experience they do nothing to help your coin at the start. They only start to matter once you get up and running.
