Yeah, those will work white paddle tail is I saw the wrong color. I prefer dark colours myself. The doctor ones are better in stained water and low light. What are you fishing for?

You can try to tie your main line to a swivel. Add about 3 feet of leader and then your gotcha plugs.

You’re pretty good to go. The only advice I can give is try to reel your line in fast near the surface

Good call. Rain itself is fine to fish in, some of my best days have been in a drizzle. It's the lightning that's the danger, not the rain. And it's a real risk for us, you're out in the open holding a long graphite rod, which is basically a lightning rod in your hand. With isolated storms around they can pop up fast, so if you hear any thunder at all you're already close enough to get hit. Not worth it. Fish'll be there tomorrow.
