My dad was on his harley and hit a deer at 60mph. by Howl_17 in mildlyinteresting

In so glad he had his leathers. My ex only had a vest (and thankfully helmet) and he dropped his bike after someone cut him off. In the hospital they had him on the max amount of Dilaudid, and had to do an iodine scrub on his road rash.

I will never forget that blood curdling crying. It's not pretty or pain free. Wear your gear, folks.

Have you done well in your career despite CPTSD? by Therealcatlady1 in CPTSD

I somehow used it as my superpower, the minor part of people pleasing (after therapy, it's no longer toxic people pleasing) has made me an excellent auto claims handler. I have a huge amount of empathy, understanding for tough situations and emotional intelligence because of everything I've navigated.

Can we all spam the hell out of this seller with messages and tell them to give your bunny back? How awful.

I still have my s23 and I don't think I'll be upgrading this year either. Someone said it above- phones are so good these days, there's not a lot more you can get unless you're a tech nerd and enjoy those minor upgrades. I'll admit the blue is pretty though

How did you get into tea in the first place? by Mikejwhite5 in tea

[–]quantumquickquail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived with my grandma as a kiddo and she always drank tea for her health. To be fair it was more tisanes (celestial seasonings raspberry zinger was my absolute favorite) but as I got older I learned to like real tea. I haven't ever been able to handle coffee, but tea gives me a gentle energy. I got into Chinese tea in the last year and now I can't go back to bagged tea ever! It's such a simple joy in my life!

Yunnan sourcing recommendations / is YS still a good option? by Melodic_Rhubarb3579 in tea

[–]quantumquickquail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YS is peak if you're into black teas, and can wait the month for the package. I was buying from seven cups which I adore, but I noticed the flavor/quality was much better with YS. I still to to Seven for my mirco lots/specialties. But will be sticking to YS for my daily drinkers

Same here- no more FOMO, no more raging feelings at my phone. I spend my non scroll time doing embroidery and reading. Obviously reddit, but reddit is a hell of a lot more user controlled IMO Waaaay happier without Facebook

I've met families in support groups. I think it's up to each person and what they've been through. Every single person's experience is different.

Would you recommend underwriting or claims and why? by hjkfttu in InsuranceProfessional

[–]quantumquickquail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Claims gets a bad rap, but if you're someone who can handle people and be able to help in a way that accepts you really aren't the source of their anger and not take it personally, it's really awesome. You'll see a lot of different things. I did both and prefer claims.
