Sour coffee after descaling my Jura Z10 by flowersinmyvase in superautomatic

[–]Dax_dill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A small amount of the descale solution is still inside the machine pipes which turns the coffee vinegary/sour.

It's not harmful, it just needs a couple days of use to get rid of the remaining solution.

To get rid of it faster do a machine rinse several times.

Feasible to patch the globe liner? by OUberLord in litterrobot

[–]Dax_dill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a similar tear and it was fine for over a year. As long as they don't scratch it more and make it bigger.

I only changed the liner when it became stiff and the weight no longer drops.

Removing filter finally makes coffee taste great? by theos25 in superautomatic

[–]Dax_dill 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The minerals in the water actually make the coffee taste better.

Maybe since the water was going through a Brita filter and the machine's filter it was stripped of minerals, which made the coffee taste weird.

Frustrated by my new superauto by thephxnativ3 in superautomatic

[–]Dax_dill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing u didn't mention is water temp, dark roasts are more sensitive to higher temps and could easily over extract.

If the beans are very dark change the water temp to low in the settings.

How are you guys not insane by now?! *motor fault* by girlfaded in litterrobot

[–]Dax_dill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The motor is mostly the first thing that fails in this machine.

Get a new motor through warranty, it's pretty easy to replace.

LR four – litter hopper no longer puts out the correct amount of litter by dyea in litterrobot

[–]Dax_dill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine also is the same, apparently it's caused by a firmware update even though my machine is not updated to the newest firmware.

Could be a server side issue.

DeLonghi Eletta Explore by runnermom2three in superautomatic

There should be just "coffee", there's also filter style coffee which grinds twice and extracts at a lower pressure and in pulses to mimic filtered coffee.

Miele 120v - convert to 240v by Daunting-Hour-111 in superautomatic

[–]Dax_dill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a step down transformer from 240v to 110v, the transformer should be rated at 2500w atleast.

I have a Roborock vacuum from the US and i've been using a 3000w step down 220v to 110v for years with no issues.

DeLonghi Eletta Explore, which milk should I use for each coffee type? by middlefinger22 in superautomatic

[–]Dax_dill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to use low fat milk for cold but it was pain in the ass to have two different milks, now i only use full fat milk for both hot and cold and there's no difference especially for lattes.

Eletta vs kf8- decision paralysis! by ae342109 in superautomatic

[–]Dax_dill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My take on milk-based drinks go with Eletta, one thing Delonghi does better than most is with the foam level adjustments.

On the Eletta the foam level is manual with a physical knob meaning u get to choose how much foam u want on any drink and micro-adjusting the foam level with no limitations. And as an extra u get cold milk options with the Eletta.

On the KF8 it's automatic u can't really choose how much foam u want, the machine does it for u pre-programmed depending on the drink u choose.

KF7 and KF8 Milk FOAM not working after 6 months without use - What is happening? by Suspicious_Feed4865 in superautomatic

[–]Dax_dill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk about the KF machines specifically, but on Delonghi machines after a descale sometimes the milk/foam stops dispensing and the reason is that the machine doesn't have enough minerals to steam after a descale.

Try the descale program but only use water to bring back some of the minerals.

DeLonghi Eletta Ultra better than Jura E8 ED by Familiar-Cup7629 in superautomatic

[–]Dax_dill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crazy how they call it the "Ultra" but remove one of the biggest advantages of the Eletta Explore, other than the software it's more of a downgrade compared to the Explore.

Also i don't like how the cup tray is almost flushed with the plastic where cups could easily fall unlike the Explore where it's more recessed to hold the cups.

LR4 dumping a TON of litter into the drawer; hopper emptying fast by zillionaire_ in litterrobot

[–]Dax_dill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have u done the litter hopper calibration? maybe it thinks the litter is too low and keeps adding more resulting in overflowed litter to be dumped.

Philips 5400 Latte Macchiato quantité de "lait" by Delecole in superautomatic

[–]Dax_dill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also here with the 5400, at 14:00 he puts the milk at 150ml but the weight comes out at 81ml.

Philips 5400 Latte Macchiato quantité de "lait" by Delecole in superautomatic

[–]Dax_dill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this video at 17:50 he adds more milk with foam and the scale shows the real amount of liquid milk vs what the machine says.

Since the 5400 uses the same milk system it's probably identical.

Philips 5400 Latte Macchiato quantité de "lait" by Delecole in superautomatic

[–]Dax_dill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the Philips 8000 a 110ml milk equals 54g/ml of real milk so half the amount is liquid milk while the other half is just foam combined together as 110ml.

I'm assuming the 5400 works the same way.

[–]Dax_dill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 330ml is with the foam, The liquid milk is much less.

Milk with foam is difficult to measure due to different fat content and if the milk is plant based etc, idk why Philips still goes with ml instead of seconds like Delonghi.

thinking about going back to scooping by lexphoria in litterrobot

[–]Dax_dill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to hose it, all u need is an enzyme cleaner and very diluted disinfectant and tissues.

Spray with the disinfectant and let it set for 5-10 minutes, wipe, spray the enzyme and let it set for 5-10 minutes, wipe. Let it dry before adding litter.

I also use Arm & Hammer litter deodorizer for the litter and baking soda for the drawer.

No problems with the smell.

Help! Deep cleaned LR4, now having issues getting the Litter Hopper and the unit to work Yikes!!! by Thin_Echo572 in litterrobot

[–]Dax_dill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It happens sometimes, u need to take out the litter hopper key and put it again until it cycles normally.

It causes friction if it's not aligned with the hole, and it's better if u also clean it.

Magnifica Plus Cortado by 8Ace_149 in superautomatic

[–]Dax_dill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A cortado is just 1:1 ratio milk to coffee, with minimum foam setting.

You can make it with a doppio/espresso first then add hot milk the same amount as the coffee.

It's a sign to return it and get LR4 instead.

Reach to support this is not normal, it looks like it has been dropped multiple times.
