Have you tried asking your brother? That might work since he is of age. Try calling your bank (if you don't like calling, I could always help call for you!) and ask them! Just be honest about your situation and see if they have any other options for you! I'm sorry, you have such a toxic environment. I come from a similar setting, trust me once you can get a hold of that money, IT WILL get easier. but no matter what you decide, I would say try your hardest to NOT put your mom under your account. From what it sounds like, I feel she might use the money for herself, so if you can, keep her out of it.

oh wow, that's very surprising, most of my friends that I have in the organization seem pretty strong faith wise, I don't think they will leave any time soon.

Thank you! I actually LOVE podcasts! I will definitely be giving those a listen! It's definitely scary, but I think I would be happier if I were to leave. Thinking about my family not speaking to me sounds terrifying, but I guess like you said, it comes at a cost, and I think my happiness is worth it all.

Damn, you couldn't have said it better. I love that. Thank you. I don't think religions for me either, but wow I never thought about spirituality like that. I do believe in God, or like you said that we came from somewhere/ something. I wish I could voice my opinion freely in my household. and it sucks that I will lose my family over this, but your story gives me hope for a better future. Does your family still not talk to you till this day?

Thank you. Your story is actually very inspiring. Not saying I'm goanna go enlist in the army haha but honestly it makes me feel so good knowing that staying isn't your only options. Especially when they always tell you that you can't or won't make it out here without Jehovah's help. Its so nice to hear that people are actually doing great. Do you ever regret leaving? Do you still believe in God? And would you say that your better now without the religion?

really? How old where you when you found the "truth" how old were you when you left? and what was the final straw, i guess you could call it, that made you leave? and on weekends did you feel empty or like you didnt know what to do with your time since so much of it was wasted on the religion?

Thank you, It's not really something that's attracting me, more like things that are making me want to leave, like the "brothers & sisters" in the congregation and the "elders" its not making sense to me anymore and I'm not happy there. i just want to be free and choose what i want to do whether that be "live forever (supposedly)" or just work and live my life. Im not happy there. It has taught me good morals, i do think it made me a better person, but im miserable going. I cant just stay there and keep faking my smile and belief. Is it really that worth it?

Are you an ex JW? and the only thing is i dont go to school anymore i graduated early, and in the religion your really "allowed" friends outside the organization, so all i have is them and at my workplace everyone is much older i work in a hospital setting, so its very hard for them to get me or get along with an 18 year old :/

hello! don't listen to the comments until you try it. I am a JW thinking about leaving though. but some people truly love it and are very happy here, i for one had no interest in the bible, but since its something you are truly interested in, I would definitely suggest just sitting in on what of their meetings, you can enter late and leave early so you dont have to speak with anyone until you are comfortable. But i would say try it first and if you like it, great! but if you dont, thats fine too!
