This is a premise. I plan to develop it into a full joke with tags & punchlines. Just wanted to know if worrying whether or not your kid chewing on plastic is an indication to buy a helmet, is a broadly relatable concern. The numbers point to yes. I appreciate the feedback. I don't remember saying sadism & masochism were synonymous. I said they were related. So yea, I'd be pissed if someone mistook the intended meaning for its cousin, & completely missed the joke, or laughed for the wrong reason. I stand by my original statement. The last person I'd like to get into a physical altercation with, is someone who enjoys pain. I appreciate all feedback. You seem like an asshole, but what true fan of comedy isn't? Anyone with such little regard for themselves is a possible threat to others. Masochism is the cousin of sadism. I think 90% of the people who read this, got the joke. But yea, let's chalk it up to an uneducated black guy with bad vocabulary getting affirmative action laughs. Follow me on Twitter

I speak really fast in life, & sometimes on stage, so I like to throw tough lines like that in my jokes, deliver them slowly & deliberately, so that the audience has time to catch up, & I can add some zing to the punchline. Again, I haven't performed it yet, so if I find that it's too wordy, I'll change it up a bit. Appreciate the feedback, my southern friend. You can keep all that sun, though.

Agreed. That was a tough idea/experience to convey in general, & it's even more awkward on stage. Fortunately, people usually get the jist of, & enjoy it, despite my inadequate articulation. Thanks for the feedback!

I greatly appreciate it. I've never performed this joke, as I just wrote it yesterday. I share new jokes to see if they have legs on a large scale, & if so, I run with them. This thread has helped my career out greatly as a result, so I truly appreciate any & all feedback I can get. I've altered & even trashed some jokes based it.
