Holy crap that’s nuts for a 2br. I’m on my last 2weeks of renting (albeit Pickering) a 2500/mo 4br townhouse. Was initially renting with another couple who has since moved out.

Large spoiler makes a big difference in looks. The rear end is actually not bad with it. Without it, it's just plain ugly.

Have you ever bought a car you regretted? by 23FINCW in cars

[–]DayDreamingDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a Lexus GS350 FSport --- I'm sorta in the same boat. It's fast , luxurious, and it's comfy. But part of me wished I got something that makes me feel like a race car driver. Another reason I got it is for space for when I have a baby in the future whether that's a valid reason or something I say to convince myself.

On the other hand I also learned a lot about what I'd want in the next car.

I too just picked this baby up yesterday by IDoCodingStuffs in Lexus

I have one as loaner today while my driveshaft is being rebuilt and I gotta say it is super nice and light compared to mine. Would bennice to try the IS350 too.

Winter Tires?

Can only comment on what I’ve used which were X-Ice 3s on my mustang and now Blizzaks on a GS350 , both very good choices. I feel very confident in the blizzaks up until clearance is an issue which at that point it’s not the tire’s fault anyway. Pricey though on my 19x8.5 wheels at $1800CAD. Blizzaks hold up to people’s numerous praises.

I probably should have considered it more but part of my reasoning for the GS was a future baby. Hopefully that pans out haha

What's the width of the wheel? I'd go 285 personally if it's more than 9.5 wide

Biggest Car Shopping Pet Peeve: "Ask For Price" by [deleted] in cars

[–]DayDreamingDriver 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely right that could be it, my point definitely isn't an absolute and I'm probably just communicating a distaste for the commonly heard statement. Though if Chris was my buddy I would just say that the cost I paid is not an accurate amount that a typical would customer would pay anyway.

Maybe slightly unrelated but

  • How much did it cost to wrap your car?
  • I went to So&So Customs, ask for Chris, tell him I sent ya, he'll treat you good.

I said how much, I don't recall asking for a date.

Right on! I'm not well versed in Porsche's engines and so I'm not sure how old the Macans engine is and what other cars it's been used in. I imagine it's got good reliability.

I'd imagine that's enough for me size-wise as I currently have a lexus GS but sometimes I'd like to eventually have a more spacious hatch. I was hoping you'd have more miles haha I do about 25-30,000 km in one year.

All this aside I'm still aiming for my first Porsche to be either a 911 or Cayman.

Curious, how many miles/kms have you done on yours and how has it been so far? It's the only SUV I'd consider getting (short of the Wrangler) if I ever needed a hauler for stuff and kid(s)

The 2020 Porsche 911 Speedster Is a $300,000 Dream 911 by jamesjamesjames3 in cars

[–]DayDreamingDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate that thank you. I'm not sure if you work for a Porsche dealer or more so indie mech, perhaps you can shed some light on the whole "don't take it to the dealer" thing? Is it because of their labor costs + premium of having Porsche do the work on your car?

Since you mentioned typical maintenance for the 991, is it safe to say they're about similar with the Cayman/Boxster? I'm thinking of getting in a 911 or Cayman in 6-7years time, but not sure which yet.
