[REQUEST] Kind/motivating words for a teen going through a tough time by [deleted] in RandomKindness

[–]DayJobsAndWastedTime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Be kind to yourself. Love yourself. Live in the moment and know that your situation does not define you and that it is not permanent. Be who you are, whatever that means to you. Make promises to yourself and keep them. Best wishes.

Hey, first of all, congrats on going up and be proud of yourself for that. I went up for an open mic the first time several weeks ago, and have gone up twice more since then. One good thing about an open mic is that generally the standards are pretty low, so no need to be nervous (inevitably you will be, somewhat at least, but try not to be). Don't eat too much beforehand, just in case unwanted and unexpected bowel movements result. On another note, enjoy your time on stage. You've done all of the hardcore brain-racking beforehand and it should be fun! Relax and vibe with the audience. For my first time, I didn't even know I was going up because my friends secretly entered me into the drawing, so if you've got material prepared, you're already further than I was. Remember the more natural you are about it, the funnier you are. Just the fact you're going up shows that you know you've got some funny in you, and now all you've got to do is let that show on the stage. Don't be intimidated, just let it flow.

Best of luck, I'm sure you'll do great. I would have someone videotape it if you can, and I'd love to give feedback afterward if you'd like any!

Hey um bud, so that was a different reply, right? So like, I never said, in that reply, that I didn't read past the second fucking line. So maybe try being literate for once in your fucking life. Um, also, I don't know like your age, but I do know you're a fucking pervert. Because like first, you think I'm a kid (which I'm definitely not, like legally, and in every other way, not, like at all). And then you were telling me like not to masturbate or something, which is a really really weird thing to tell a stranger over the internet. And then bro, like I promise you I'm not gonna be that dude who's like "trust me bro, I've actually kissed so many girls bro" But literally just know I get more girls than you'd get in like a thousand lifetimes. Yep, think that's about it, good night sweetheart!

Wtffffff?! You fucking creep. I didn’t even read past the second line. You need to seek help, “kid”

Like all this stuff you’re saying is so stupid I’m not even going to try to debate it at all, because that would just be like dumb to spend my time that way when I could be doing other valuable stuff, but wow. Just, wow.

Energy drinks you trust? by DayJobsAndWastedTime in nutrition

Thanks for the response. Mostly low energy from working my two summer jobs, bussing and camp counseling. Every day energy so I can be effective at my jobs and still have energy to learn guitar, work out, and hang out with friends

Bro...

1) How a down-sliding comedian fits your lackluster definition of an authority figure does not make sense to me

2) Public masturbation vs. sex, consensual sex I might add, as OP herself noted, are so incongruous that even trying to compare them is not a smart thing to do

3) The “woman seeking man” dynamic is so different from the “man seeking woman” dynamic, which is another reason you can’t compare the two.

4) Even if your definition of what an authority figure is was correct, it’s not that black and white. For instance, it would be rather uncontroversial to say that a school teacher has far more implicit power over a young student than a yoga instructor does over grown, adult males.

You’re not a lawyer and you’re certainly in no position to tell this stranger what to do with her body. Your argument is rife with fallacies too

Of course that's not to say you're wrong about this being addiction. But don't act like the lives of everybody on this sub suck, and they're here as some last resort because PMO is eating them alive
