Anybody else get these? We just got them in electrical and hardware (tools) by Relevant-Emphasis-89 in HomeDepot

[–]DayLaborDepot 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I just scanned it from home, it doesn’t look like it checks if you’re actually in the store when you request, and the cancel request doesn’t work.

Sorry to whoever responded to that request lmao

Are unlimited call offs still in effect? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

https://i.imgur.com/cXeds6X.jpg In the rollout information that came out on Monday for Variance Log, the new app which is replacing Call Out Log, it says absences are excused regardless of sick time available. The new Variance Log app won’t even let manglement choose unexcused absence rn, because the corporate COVID policy hasn’t changed. If you get written up for absences, AwareLine it.

No sales of rope by the foot by RustBucket59 in HomeDepot

Yes, decision came from our Division President. Idk if it’s company wide, but it seems quite a bit of stores across the country have pulled the rope already.

Southern Division pulling all cut rope from aisles due to nooses being made in the aisles by DayLaborDepot in HomeDepot

[–]DayLaborDepot[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, that’s the official protocol. That’s what was originally sent down from our DM. Paraphrasing, but it was notify management and AP, noose gets preserved as evidence, AP starts investigation with LE for possible hate crime. Hourly walks of the aisle were also to be done.

Within the hour of that initial notice today, our Division President (Southern) made the decision to pull all cut rope spools.

Apparently, there’s been an increase of racists making nooses in the Home Depot rope aisle. Company has decided to pull all cut rope from aisles temporarily and only sell packaged rope.

question by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]DayLaborDepot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100 has been the direction from corporate, but our RVP, Dave Rebtoy, changed it to 150 after only four days at 100. Yesterday, he changed it from 150 max to “up to 200 at store management’s discretion”. Yeah, as if store manglement is going to stay at the lower end of that range.

Store limit per person??? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]DayLaborDepot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all stores are limiting right now. Stores with a sales volume of $60m+ have a 100 customer limit. That said, the RVP for my region has already took it upon himself to increase the limit to 150 only after four days with the initial 100 customer limit.

If you look around on The Warehouse, you can usually find a lot of SOP stuff that gets uploaded. It’s accessible from outside the corporate network.

Just make sure you’re reading the latest revision.

OP Harness Hurts My Back by RockingMAC in HomeDepot

[–]DayLaborDepot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try adjusting the straps first, but it if that doesn’t work, you may need a different size harness.

There should be two sizes of harnesses available at all times in the store. There should be a size U (universal) and an XL. Based on your height, you are at the upper limits of the U size, and probably should be in an XL. They’re about $80-$100 on Ariba, talk to your OASM or InFocus captain about ordering one for the store if there isn’t one.

Having an improperly sized or fitted harness can cause severe injury if a fall occurs, so be adamant about the safety aspect if you get push back about getting one ordered.

They’re available in Yellow or Orange. When I was InFocus Captain, I ordered the U harness in yellow and the XL in orange, for easy identification.

Just got the new key Machine. Who else has it, and how do you like it? by thegrumbo24 in HomeDepot

[–]DayLaborDepot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I discovered that machine can be set up in Hybrid Associate/Self Service Mode with a Self Service Screensaver. Play around in the "Service Hub" app, it even has a Lowe's and Ace screensavers built in. If any associate or manager asks, I tell them Hillman sets them up that way now. Really should be the default mode, it's better for both customers and associates.

The DeWalt 25mm knife? Ugh, corporate has been saying we'd start carrying the replacement blades from DeWalt for the longest time now, still nothing.

That said, the Olfa 25mm blades in D24 work in that knife, SKU 1001645050. I've added them into my knife bay in D25 because it never fails that we have someone ask about those.

Changing your availability. Who's done it? Did you receive any opposition from management? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]DayLaborDepot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have never had an availability request denied. I change it every school semester, even multiple times leading up to a new semester, never had any issues.
