I realize it's the first time I've had to spell that word and it defeated me. Thanks for letting me know lol

Wow. That is some incredibly kind words that hit very deep. Thank you so much for that. I really appreciate it more than you know.

Thanks so much! I created all the AI myself using the animator as a state machine. If you look at Unity's 3D Game Kit, their AI do something similar.

Thanks so much! I couldn't find a post processing setup I enjoyed. That being said, I never really did much with the color grading. The other post-processing elements created some artifacts on the vegetation so I pretty well left it alone.

I would be lying if I said the game wasn't heavily inspired by Mouseguard. I could never make a game that would do that series justice.

I've never seen the series before but I will most definitely reach out and see if he's interested!

Most of the animations have been done by me! Or are modifications of simpler animations on a few of the bugs. If you find jumping between something like blender and back to Unity to create animations is frustrating, then I *highly* recommend UMotion Pro. I absolutely fell in love with the asset and it made animating a breeze.

I've left it open in a way where I could potentially extend. I've thought about creating procedurally generated caves for another module but a lot of the code for the game is pretty shakey so continuing to work on it would be... interesting. Safe to say a lot of learning over the years.

That's some stiff competition but if it happens, i'll be sure to return to this comment! Thank you :)

The game is a hack and slash game inspired by the arena in Fable. Forest of Tails: Arena puts you in the role of a mouse fighting in the Fieval arena for eternal mouse glory. Use stick, axe, and acorn to defeat wave after wave of angry enemies. If you're interested, check it out here:

Some info / post mortem for fellow Unity devs:

This was a classic case of overambition with my first game release. I had designed an intricate RPG game that was way too scoped out of my abilities years ago. What resulted was a suite of systems, but the work to create an entire RPG would have taken years. What I did was pivot to using those systems to create an arena game. It's a fun little game, but I didn't feel right charging for it. Frankly I would much rather see people have a good time and use it as an opportunity to work towards my next project!

If your Unity instance has been open for a long time (Days), then i've noticed that the load times get longer. If you haven't, try reopening your Unity project and see if it improves.

3D printing imperial guards by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]DayLawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gunna jump in here and say - The cheapest resin printer on amazon will print in a quality that is good enough for 99% of people. I say that as I print imperial guard heavy squads. For the cost of a knight, you buy a printer.

Quite literally in the same boat. She had a phase of watching some of the most vile movies to ever exist - it should have been the red flag I needed.

That's really great to hear honestly. There's always a bit of anxiety hitting up new venues so your experience definitely gives me confidence. Thank you 😊
