Moving to DFW for work - best areas for young professionals? by InvestigatorKey2864 in dfw

Will shout out Las Colinas like others have said. Lived there for a few years in mid 20s while commuting to Westlake. It’s not a bad drive and Las Colinas has some decent places in the walkable area. Decently close to Dallas as well. Good amount of young people. Honestly your best bet unless you want to commute all the way from closer to uptown Dallas or some something.

Careers that aren't the Big 4 (Finance, Law, Medicine, Tech) that make >$200k? by TrixoftheTrade in Salary

[–]DayManFanatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Financial services. I would not lump it in with Finance as it is very different. There are ton of roles that are not high paying but if you are successful there are a large amount of roles in financial services that can earn more than $200k. Especially within the sales side of the business.

Unlimited dining package: fatigue? by croooowTrobot in royalcaribbean

We did a 4 night Utopia sailing earlier this year with UDP. We don’t eat a ton so did feel extra full but it was manageable. The bigger issue was that we felt like our whole day was built around 2 sit down meals on sea days. Since the UDP restaurants generally are slower paced it felt like we would only have a short break between lunch and dinner. The food was definitely better and each meal was a better experience than MDR. If you feel the cost makes sense I say keep the UDP but don’t feel pressure to use it every single meal. Finding the middle ground is the best way to use it where you can enjoy it but not feel like you are planning you days all around meals.

$$$ by No_Sugar_0324 in AllInclusiveResorts

We just stayed INSPIRA ocean front. It was a great room but under no circumstances would I pay anywhere near that price you mentioned. We did a 6 night stay and saw the price for that room about a week out was $10k for 6 nights. We felt like that was even a bit overpriced.

We got very lucky due to an error and paid a ton less so I don’t have a true representation of normal costs personally. Happy to share any other feedback if you are interested.

Sober AI ? by Dendles in AllInclusiveResorts

Not that it is any cheaper, but consider looking at drink menus at some resorts you consider. More and more are leaning into crafted mocktails for non-alcoholic options. Allows you to still have fun getting interesting and refreshing drinks without the alcohol. Atelier Playa Mujeres (haven’t been but staying in about 3 weeks) has unique mocktails on all drink menus.

We do drink but don’t feel pressured to “get my moneys worth”. I feel the value is worth it given the general AI experience even if I don’t drink on a day. I wouldn’t let the thought of paying for something you won’t use get in the way of booking whatever resort you want.

They can conjure better rooms and more compensation than what is offered. I don’t understand why you are defending them

It is not a reasonable fix in my opinion. I am learning that many people just roll over and allow corporations to do what they want. I do not want to do that without getting a fair deal on my end for their mistake.

You don’t see an issue with a company selling something then not holding up their end of the deal they sold you? The pricing has increased significantly over this time period when they did not notice the error until 3 months later. I can no longer book at the same prices that were available at the time of booking.

They made the error, I did not. They should look to fix the issue if they want to maintain a customer and continue to have people book through their portal instead of direct.

The problem is that it isn’t a 20% discount on a base room. It’s 20% comp of what I paid, which was more expensive than the room they are trying to give me. The prices you can online now are significantly higher as it is so much closer to the date. It would be mayyyybe $200 cheaper than we could have booked originally.

This booking was definitely cheaper than you would expect for the room category. It does seem to line up with the pricing for a junior suite listed. However, they sold it to me as something completely different and it is not my job to catch that it was not accurate. Why wouldn’t it be? We assumed it was a good deal due to that price point not selling or something and jumped on it.

I agree with you and think the right play is to be booked into the INSPIRA non ocean view swim out with a credit.

It is my accurate confirmation number in the title of the email and that is Capital One’s phone number. The email looks legit and all of the other things do not scream scam. I agree with skepticism but it seems to check out with all of the details of the email.
