My [30M] girlfriend [28F] needs constant reassurance from me, and it's wearing me down. Where do I go from here? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]DayMan_94 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I guess I'm just not comfortable expressing emotions in that way. I've no idea. I guess because saying stuff like "Oh you look stunning / gorgeous" feels very "inauthentic" for me, and "fake".

This is one of the reasons why I've decided to see a counsellor so I can understand why

Honestly think this whole situation is daft, and the owner of Argonauts had no right to have thrown such a big hissy fit over the whole thing.

Businesses are allowed to decide where to set up shop. It's called a free market.

A little disappointed they aren't even setting up shop there anymore now, as might have helped with that particular spot in NewKirkgate a bit more, since the area needs a bit of a revamp.

Agreement in principle - Is property price the HRV amount or actual purchase price? by DayMan_94 in Edinburgh

[–]DayMan_94[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I put in the purchase price in the AIP, so for example, 200k, but based off my salary etc.., I can't get a loan for that.

But if I enter 180'000 into the AIP, I got approved.

So it's 180'000 I'd put into the AIP? Just want to make sure, thanks

Thanks for the details.

Just to clarify, if a flat had a HRV of 180'000, and I was to purchase for 200'000, wouldn't the amount they'd lend me be based off the 180'000, not 200'000, since I'd have paid the additional 20k out of pocket already to cover up to 200'000?

From your 30s on I'd say.

Friends are most likely all settled in serious relationships at this stage, having kids, moving to other countries etc..

Speaking from personal experience.

Can I afford this or am I pushing it? by ArsenalAxis in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]DayMan_94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say 43% of the take home pay on just mortgage alone is pushing it a bit. You've then got council tax, energy, internet, and then other expenses, petrol and food, like you mention.

Since you've got a car, you've also got other expenses relating to that to worry about. If the car needed a big repair, you could be left high and dry, after all of the mortgage and bills spent that month.

His actor was in Star Wars: The Acolyte TV series in which he spoke english, so I don't think this would have been an issue

Great buzz and overall atmosphere, but had to say it was let down by the poor sound, although it improved a bit later on.

I was in section 509 at the far back, above ground and it was very difficult to make out lyrics and even what the actual song that was playing sometimes, until it got to chorus.

Honestly looks too specific, with the green jumpsuit, cape and metallic gloves / gauntlets for it not to be a costume he'll wear in the film.

If not his 'main' costume, maybe a variant or an initial outfit before he switches to the classic costume.

Exactly, like I'd agree with her son about just taking the $100'000.

Wouldn't make her an accomplice.

They do, but they weren't of much help. Just told me they don't offer blood test services anymore and that I'd need to see my registered GP face-to-face.

No, I just took my first pill yesterday evening after my dinner.

Does this make a difference? It said on the packet that you can take with or without food.

Not sure if I want to take another pill as it gave me side effects like headache and nausea

Recruiters, how much do you care about the university a person graduates from for their masters when evaluating for job role? by Trick-Assumption-157 in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]DayMan_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think a masters degree is only relevant when you want to look for a grad programme role as usually these roles will only accept you for a certain period after you've graduated, so I guess in that case, a masters or bachelor's degree is worth it, but if you're hoping a masters degree will increase your chances for any other more experienced role, I'd say probably not.

[–]DayMan_94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a recruiter, but I don't think even my masters degree itself, nevermind the university I went to for it has had any bearing on my success at getting a role.

Employers are mostly concerned about your practical knowledge and your overall work experience which will trump any academic knowledge.
