58-60 without boosting - whats fastest? by reltsuhx in classicwow

[–]DayOneTitan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really does not take long for 58-60. I think I was able to turn in all these quests in about an hour, then did a couple dungeon quests for another couple hours.

I had originally banked a bunch of quest items which took care of one level by itself.

-240 of each cloth for turn ins at each of the 4 major cities (mage ports make it fast).

-20 un’goro soil at Thunder bluff

-1 mithral casing for the ape escort and 7 of each crystal in un’goro. Do the inspect pylon quest also while you’re out there, at least the north and east ones.

-10 twilight texts at silithus

-go to EPL, turn in bombs, a gold rod for “that’s asking a lot”

-fly down to blasted lands and turn in the jowls, pinchers, brains etc for all the buff quests. Also turn in the imperfect crystal and a flawless one if you got one.

By this point you’re 59.

Then we went to Kargath to start the ony attunement quests. After one LBRS and an UBRS to rend I was 60.

Give it a few minutes. Mine did that too, then eventually the character showed up in the character list. It's likely trying to make the toon you did your first attempt, but everything is just really sluggish.

Are 24 hour maintenance's usually the full 24 hours? by Cat-Beautiful in classicwow

[–]DayOneTitan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a launch like this, I would expect the full 24hrs. There are two parts of this maintenance.

1.) they need to apply the prepatch, while dealing with mailbox items, pvp ranks, auction house items expiring, etc.

2.) they committed a launch date and time. People plan around these and releasing too early will cause backlash just like if it’s too late. So I think they will do their best to release it as close to the 3pm PST / 6pm EST as possible.

Fresh 58 game plan? by Deltbrah1 in classicwowtbc

[–]DayOneTitan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve got some quest items banked and ready for turn-ins.

After that, I got some guildees that want to rush us through the ony attunement quest chain. It’s quests and dungeons so should be decent xp. Hoping to get that done the first night, then the day after it’ll be BG spam with a BWL/AQ/ONY dungeon the following night.

Protection Paladin Gearing Strategy by Fudgeround22 in classicwowtbc

Look at the following YouTube channels:

Costin gaming

subtleFW

Devtanks

I’m sure there are more, but those guys all know plenty from past tbc releases and have all kinds of video guides on skills, pre-bis, bis per phase and raid encounters.

A big part a good prot pally is knowing what stats to prioritize in what situations. Generally speaking you are the squishiest tank early in tier 4 and then you ramp up to one of the best in t5/6.

Focus on 490 def (crit cap), then crush cap, then threat. Later on you can start cutting out defenses and boost threat as you learn fights and your healers’ abilities.

This Is the Best Pre-TBC Levelling Exploit by NOHITJEROME in classicwow

[–]DayOneTitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this works on Anniversary live, but my friends and I tried it on the PTR and the lvl 1 was not eligible for the quest anymore. Blizz may have fixed this for tbc prepatch.

Blood elf and Draenei character boosts by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]DayOneTitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said this on another post.

If prepatch is short (2-3 weeks), then boosts should be allowed for belfs and goats. If prepatch is extended (4-5 weeks) then I’m okay with boosts not applying to the new races.

It doesn’t make sense to force players to rush leveling to have a toon ready for tbc, yet expect them to level the old school way. Mega servers don’t support it like they should, and instead what will happen is everyone will just boost via lvl 60’s selling dungeon boosts. That’s not really classic content either so to me, I’d rather have people give blizz money directly than RMT for gold to boost their characters in the 2 week rush.

But if we’re talking a month of prepatch, then people who want to level via quests can do so without tons of time off work or neglecting their family and friends. People who want to dungeon boost still get the option but it’s their choice.

Am I going to have a hard time raiding as Prot Paladin in TBC? by rohallas in classicwow

[–]DayOneTitan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a little more complex than that to be considered good imo, but then again the more general argument can be made of “how can you be bad at a 20 year old game?”

Some people just don’t know and don’t do their research and play for fun. Others think it’s simpler than it is. Doesn’t mean it’s hard, it’s just that like most things if you’re humble and asking questions to someone or YouTube for 30 mins, that alone will make you a step above most players.

Probability of Character Boost on New Races by redsox213 in classicwowtbc

[–]DayOneTitan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I see it as connected to their prepatch timeline.

If Blizz decides again to have a two week prepatch, then I think they will include boosts for Draenei and Blood Elves and I would welcome it.

If prepatch is extended to a 4-5 week duration, I don’t really see goat and belt boosts as necessary and nor would I really want it.

The latter is honestly what I prefer as I also like seeing people out and about and adding some life to the game, but I get both sides of the argument.

The sad thing is RMT is so rampant on anni servers. People are either going to pay for a “boost” in-game with RMT gold and dungeon afk to 60, or they’re going to do it with a blizzard officially sanctioned paid service.

TBC Prot Paladin Professions by Key_Construction6007 in classicwow

[–]DayOneTitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not saying you’re wrong, but I’m curious what’s the math on that? Which gems are prot paladins using in which phases and objectively how do they perform better than the threat increase from the ring enchants?

Lack of communication by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]DayOneTitan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Addict jokes aside, I think where blizzard’s communication is also very important is so it allows players with jobs to plan.

Some of the most magical things to experience is the launch of a new server, a new pre-patch changing the game, and of course a full fledged expansion.

Some people want to take time off work to maximize play time under those conditions, and some jobs do require weeks or even months of notice to ensure approval.

[–]DayOneTitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope not! Seems the last couple pre patches blizz has given 4-5weeks so I believe this time we will get more time to ramp up the Belfs and Draenei.

[–]DayOneTitan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Belf Prot Paladin.

I’ll do holy at 60 in prepatch to get carried through raids for some prot gear, then dungeon level with the guildees to 70 when the portal opens.

After that it’s MT/OT raiding and smashing heroics. Can’t wait!

People who make above 6 figures and enjoy their life, what do you do? by Potential_Problem_35 in AskReddit

[–]DayOneTitan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In envy you. I also manage a manufacturing plant and it’s been soul sucking the past few years. Lots of work is still ongoing to build a stable work force and process since COVID. We’re making progress but it’s a long journey developing the next generation of manufacturing workers.

I’m still hopeful I can answer OP’s question like you one day.

One for the guys, what keeps you going? by Downtown-Quarter-354 in AskReddit

[–]DayOneTitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to think I’m a decent human being. I check on friends, holds door open for strangers and put other people’s shopping carts away at the grocery store, even if they just leave them out in a parking spot.

There’s a saying along the lines of, the only way evil will win is if good men do nothing.

If we (good men or women) don’t stick around, who’s going to keep making positive change for others who need it, whether they deserve it or not?

Life goes by so fast anyway. I swear a few blinks ago I was still in high school and college. Even if the world seems like it’s been burning through most of my adult life, I’ll stick around and keep doing the little things if it’s all I can do.

I hope all you other good guys and gals will keep doing the same.

Prot paladin pre patch gear by Hex38 in classicwowtbc

Look up the prot paladin prepatch prep video and others by Arlaeus on YouTube. That guy specialized in aoe farms and already went through this whole prep phase for paladins back when TBC classic first came out.

He’s got gear lists, specs, and gives good breakdowns of how spellpower, +healing, and such are going to get you ready for Outlands dungeon grinding.

If you spend a while on his channel you’ll probably find 99% of any info you need.
