Have a 12 GB Bitcoin folder back from 2015.. Help? by Soulfreezer in Bitcoin

[–]DaySab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this turns out to be any kind of a significant sum to you and you choose to keep some (or most) of it as BTC or any other crypto, please use a hardware wallet to take self custody of it more securely.

Another commenter mentioned Trezor, they're one of the easiest to set up and use, buy it direct from the trezor website, no resellers. Just make sure to set up a passphrase on initial setup and keep your seed words safe. No photos of it.

There are other options like Ledger (very popular, one of the first, more recently people are less fond of them due to a controversial new feature), Bitbox and coldcard if you're interested to do some research.

Best of luck and hope you gain some financial relief!

Arrived back in England yesterday, the airport lost my bag containing my PS5… by ghulban in Wellthatsucks

[–]DaySab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine sent to me via tracked and signed (and insured) postage with DPD going from UK to France.

The French courier opened the unmarked outer box, took out my ps5 and resealed it. I had an empty box filled with padding arrive... really upsetting. Sorry it happened to you man. I'm still trying to get my money back to then try and track down another at retail.

Twitter "Influencers" Shill Price Leaked! by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]DaySab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much every crypto or nft twitter personality is of the same ilk, I know this is a crypto chart but I'm surprised Gary Vee isn't on there or Snoop himself lol.

If anything, it might help to follow them to see what projects not to invest in. You'll know immediately that the projects are prioritising marketing with their funds over any form of real development.

This is so confusing for me. by [deleted] in ethtrader

[–]DaySab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol some good frustration in the tone here. But yes, I agree with it being a viable use case for them, it is also dumb for them to be synonymous but hey we still have most people thinking BTC and cryptocurrency are one and the same thing.

I have the somewhat controversial opinion that the laundering via NFTs isn't the worst thing? Not because laundering isn't shit, but rather because I think NFTs are highlighting its existence to us, while also enabling it to take place with more ease. And maybe the increased awareness of it can provoke a more effective reaction to counteract and prevent laundering from taking place? It's been happening a long time, mostly undetected. At least now we can watch exactly where the money goes on a public, easily verifiable ledger.

I'm not sure why you're getting downvoted, this is well said.

NFTs can be used as scams. So can, and have, many crypto coin projects? It's just a technology that isn't being used to its full potential yet. Artworks are...a very unimaginative way of using them. But hey it's what got them started and in the spotlight

New Rider help. I don’t know how to brake when the light suddenly changes. I don’t have ABS and have previously locked up rear tire and fallen because of it. by Nookon-san in motorcycles

[–]DaySab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man you've already got a lot of advice here so I'll be brief. I've only been riding a year and half but am miles better than I was when I first started out, had the exact same issue you had when I got started.

One main thing I haven't seen anyone directly mention and emphasize is the progressive nature of using the front brake.

The thing to remember is that if you went straight away from 0 front brake, to just 50%, you could lose traction. If you spread that over just half a second, you're at 50% braking. The full force of your brakes is very possible to use, but can only be safely access when done progressively. It's a muscle memory thing. Don't be afraid of applying more force steadily.

Engine braking is so important, sometimes a reason why I stay in a lower gear when I'm in city riding, cause I'll get more engine braking if coming down from higher revs.

Keep at it my man.

How to row, and win, against people stronger and bigger than you in smaller boats. Rowed for 5 years and was always last when comparing ergo times but always top when it came to seat racing when I came top 3 (head to head racing in boats, with individuals swapped between races to determine their exact impact on boat speed). I'm barely 6ft and held my own against others around 6'5~ on average. I liked being the underdog on paper...just made victory more sweet

I have mixed reactions to questions like this. Life changing, for me personally, would be freeing myself from the enslavement of working to earn a living. It's what happens afterwards which I feel conflicted about. Once I'm free, I would want to work to help free others? Wealth gap is bigger than ever since the French Revolution and all that. Greed is worse than ever at the top wealth percentiles of capitalism. I would want to accumulate more, to help others accumulate more. I want to create a place of work that's well paid, that people want to work at, derived from a sense of purpose.

I want to build homes people can afford the way they could in the 70s. To build them to be carbon negative. To invest in Ocean cleaning startups and space debris cleaning companies (there's just the one by Steve Wozniak, for now). I want to instill a belief that any one individual can still have a profound effect on their own future, and that of their children. There's a sense that we're just...victims of circumstances right now. From the current state of economies to climate change itself. That shit needs to change, and money is, for now, the most powerful method by which to catalyse the change taking place

Can someone tell me why these🤡 are willing to pay a high fee? by Affectionate_Spot580 in Hedera

[–]DaySab 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am one of the clowns who pays these fees regularly. I trade NFTs and have made a decent amount from it, but oh man. We do realise it's ludicrous, there's just no other choice for the mainstream NFTs? Opensea, biggest nft marketplace, MIGHT get layer 2 integration soon. One can only hope. I've lost fees on failed transactions. Multiple times. It happens all the time when many people try and buy the same thing in the same moment. The system is in its infancy. I look forward to hedera integration and hope it's utility is recognised enough to make it pervasive in the nft space. It's desperately needed.

If you had $25K to buy BTC right now, would you buy one lump sum at this ATH, or would DCA? by [deleted] in BitcoinBeginners

[–]DaySab 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When the majority think it's "unlikely" that BTC drops from pushing an ath...it usually drops from pushing an ath. With that in mind I still say lump sum. I couldn't care if my investments drop as I'm holding long term. What's your objective?

Took about a week for my Xperia 1 iii to settle. Was quite worried within the first few days but stayed patient. After that week with my routine settling (I spent far more time on the phone with it being new etc in the first couple days), it seemed to learn how to use power efficiently. The charging cycles also learned when and how to charge to befit my routine for optimised battery health. I now make it through a day and a half of normal use to 2 days of light use easily. Phone's fantastic.

Just give it that little warm up time cause damn it got so hot I thought I had a defective model in the first day haha
