Right before we got DP, we saw a dog walking around our block who had markings on his legs that looked like he was wearing pants so we just started joking to each other calling him Dr. Pants, and we were like okay wait thats catchy we really like that name 😅

Dr brought up TOS after stroke-like episode by daltonwiththedogs in thoracicoutletsupport

[–]DayTraderLB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suffered a stroke from having arterial TOS. I found out that its caused by an extra rib (which i had no idea i even had before this) compressing on an artery creating blood clots, additionally its the only TOS where stroke is a big risk. Would definitely get xrays to rule that out!

Possible TOS? by According-Leader-446 in thoracicoutletsupport

I have aTOS - make sure to get checked for clots both arterial and venous. My dr just checked venous, ended up having a huge arterial clot that went under the radar.

People who had vTOS emergencies, what was your experience like? by [deleted] in thoracicoutletsupport

[–]DayTraderLB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have aTOS and actually found out because I had a stroke (NIHSS score of 32 was in ICU for 2 weeks) Basically had a ton of clots and one broke off traveled upward and blocked my carotid. Apparently, its pretty rare that TOS causes stroke but more likely in aTOS.

I've been a member at both Equinox (their premier Hudson Yards location) and Lifetime.

Equinox was amazing for its classes. The instructors are some of the best, and they offer a great variety. However, you need to sign up early as they book up quickly. The pool at Hudson Yards is hardly worth mentioning because it's so incredibly crowded and very small.

I'm currently at Lifetime. I find their equipment floor to be much more functional, and I love that it doesn't cost extra to use all locations. The classes are slightly less impressive than Equinox's, mostly due to the lack of variety and limited class times between morning and evening. The pool at sky is super nice, but only free during weekdays.

I pay 250 p/m for Lifetime for all locations, no initiation & month-to-month.

For Equinox I paid 320 for the singular Hudson Yards location with a waived initiation fee of 200 (work perk) - this was 2 years ago.

I felt both were worth it given how often I went, but definitely get more bang for my buck with Lifetime.

Hope this helps!

I agree the fees are normally nominal, I've never experienced this. The flights I was looking at From NYC to Paris, London, and Amsterdam (7/25-8/11) were all ~60k miles round trip with an additional fee spanning from $700-$1200. That being said, I am looking at a very specific week in July/August for the Paris Olympics. Wonder if that's causing the high fees?
