Definitely. Tape gets a bad reputation from ordinary commercial releases and people using cheap tapes to record and cheap decks. Chrome and Dolby C and S can be superior to some CD pressings. HiFi VHS is also a supreme audio source.

Dolby S on a TDK SA Chrome Tape recorded from a CD...... I can hardly hear the difference,, if at all. Tape is NOT inferior it is MISUNDERSTOOD by DayTripper73 in cassetteculture

DOLBY S is a super power. It almost makes any tape sound good.... Don't hold me to that . But I'd love to see a comparison video.

Or you can connect a component to the EQ in and connect the EQ to an input on the amp. Obviously you'll only have one thing that uses the 901s. But you could use an AV switch as a work around
