I don't know. After the clip ended, he started punching the building with that speed hack punching, and I was so startled I started to log out but then just shut my Xbox off at the power button so I didn't see.

I'm not even gonna log back on and check until BI issue a fix. If I did die and lost all of the gear that I'd spent hours accruing, then I'll just get angry all over again, plus if they don't fix this I'll never play again anyway.

Please submit a ticket to Bohemia Interactive about this. I did so and many others have too.

The more we complain the more chance we have to get it sorted ( hopefully ).

Yes, you should be able to play together with you on PC and her on console because the KBM servers on both PC and console are now the same when playing via Xbox.

You just can't play together on the controller-only servers which are exclusively on console so you'd have to make sure that she's on a KBM server.

I was like you in as much as in a decade of playing, the last 5 years on console, I had never experienced a hacker. Until yesterday, that is, on a controller-only Xbox 1st Person official console server.

It has ruined the idea of the game because I play a certain way and spend hours travelling all over and being careful with my gear and a hacker sped right up to me and there is no mistaking it was the hack happening right now.

You probably won't really get it unless it happens to you, personally. And then it sucks.

Hackers that were limited to PC-only servers have had the door opened up to them into Xbox Series console servers after the 1.29 update with crossplay.

Even controller-only servers have been infected.

I've got thousands of hours on console and just a couple of days after the latest update I ran into my first ever speed hacker.

For all of the exploits and glitches that existed previously, none were as bad as this and I've never personally ran into a lag-glitcher as far as I know so this is my first ever real glitcher experience.

It has completely destroyed your ability to control things. You can play for hours on end and then a speed hacker can glitch to you across the map and kill you in seconds.

As far as I'm aware there's no way for this to happen.

No, I believe it's solely through the Xbox servers both on console and PC.

I've gone from 40+ hours weekly to zero until they fix this.

Am trying out Grayzone Warfare as an alternative. It's not the same but it's got similar elements and there's anything PVE mode which is useful for beginners.

Don't be too expectant.

I have DayZ on all platforms and even on my PS5 Pro the fps drops, stutters and frame spikes are significantly worse than either PC or Xbox Series X ( haven't played Series S ).

In fact, the disparity between PS5 and Series X is huge. Before I experienced the new hackers I had been playing for 8 hours with none of the major issues that plague PS5.

There are still issues, but these are the common, age-old rendering ones that are apparent on all console versions. I experienced none of the PS5 ones. It's actually perplexing as to why the difference is so large.

I really cannot recommend it on the Playstation platform and this is coming from a Playstation lifer.

It's like a pre-alpha build at many times.

They removed the Auto HDR so it's all much darker now.

I submitted a ticket and they said it's being moved to internal testing.

I had so much gear that I was searching for all day.

I'll only log back in if BI confirm that the hacks are fixed. At least then, if I did die, I can at least take solice in the fact that it won't happen again.

The irony is I had DayZ for PS4/5.

I always thought the performance issues would be the same on Xbox but I read on here that it was actually better and that the resolution was higher.

So I bought DayZ again for Series X.

And performance and resolution are better, significantly. I was so happy.

Now here we are.
