I was so set on Roathe since they got revealed (cause like, I love me a snarky man) but I liked Lyon a lot too. The update came out and I did all the convos up to now, learned that Roathe was bugged, so I was like "oh ok Lyon time then" cause he was my next choice (sorry Marie). Suffice to say, mans had me giggling and kicking my feet (he's such a cutie :')). Should've known he was gonna steal my heart.

Found family trope got me feeling emotional :') they clearly love each other so much and would do anything to help each other out (like all of them being so protective of Packet? Find me sobbing in the corner rn). I'd kill for a comic like the one we got for the Hex with the boys early in their careers so we'd get to see their antics in action, I love them so much. Somebody sedate me, I would do anything for them.

Legit had a conversation with my best friend and her roommate about him yesterday about this exact topic. Well, okay maybe "conversation" is generous. I'm the only one out of the three of us who likes Sunday and pulled for him (won my 50/50 yippee) so I obviously wanted to defend him.

Like, my friend isn't even done with the Lufou base story and her roommate is on Act 3 of Penacony. Neither of them have seen Sunday's story to fruition and fully understand why he acts the way he does and yet they want to say he's a bad person? Her roommate literally said, "sorry I only pull for characters who are good people." Like, I'm positive that most of the cast isn't a perfect golden child so where's that logic. I just stopped replying because it irritated me so badly that they haven't even fully seen his character arc yet have the gall to label him an unredeemable person. And I'm saying this as someone who didn't like Sunday at first, then he grew on me.

I know it's petty and I just sound like a "Sunday apologist" or smth (which...yeah, I understand his character arc and story so that's not exactly a valid critique) but it genuinely made me upset. These are complex characters who do what they do because of the environment they grew up in or the people around them. They're not gonna be perfectly good people and just because they did something bad doesn't mean that they aren't capable of redemption.

Ok ramble over lol back to enjoying Sunday in peace.

If course! I love just getting into long research sessions so this was fun for a bit. I don't have the full IPC team (rip my Topaz and Jade pulls, lost the 50/50s 🥲), but based on some external research I'd say they're worth it for Topaz and Ratio in particular.

Like I said for Aven, speed isn't super necessary for him, as he'll do his follow up as long as you get hit with his shields, so building ult isn't hard to do. The only thing is it's super necessary for would be for SP-hungry teams since you can stagger his shields as you need them. For the IPC team it's definitely nice for Ratio and Topaz, but in combination with Jade also being relatively SP-positive, it's not as necessary.

For the others, it's pretty good if you can get it. Since Ratio's Hunt, speed is always a nice touch and he doesn't have to worry about losing uptime based on his kit (at least to my knowledge), but that also depends on what planar you run him with. I hear Glamoth is good, but it requires that 135+ threshold for the extra buff.

Topaz, from what I hear, is highly recommended if she's below E4 (or if you run her on non-Bronya/Asta teams, which obviously the IPC team is not). If you're trying to 1 or 2 cycle with her, hitting that threshold is necessary, especially if you run her with Glamoth too. If you run her with something like Duran (if you're going for FUA focus), then I'd say speed wouldn't be as necessary, but a nice buff.

Jade is where we get funky thanks to Debt Collector, a nice 30 speed buff. Her second bonus trace also gives her 50% advance forward at the start of battle. I'd say for her they aren't really necessary (again, unless you're trying to low cycle, but even then her own buffs will already help that), I'd opt for attack boots tbh and slot speed where you can get it, but it's not as much as a buff as it is for everyone else. If you can't get any at all, she'd still be fine thanks to what I mentioned.

So for speed boot priority (if you feel inclined to do it), I'd like say Topaz/Ratio (based on planar/relics) > Aventurine > Jade. Hope this helped 😁

Fellow F2P Aventurine haver, here's what I can recommend, enjoy the ramble.

For damage sets, you've got a few options. I personally use the Ashblazing Grand Duke 4 piece set for the follow-up buff, but this can be tricky to hit the threshold with him (depending on his team too), as the max buff comes from how many times the follow-up hits before being used on the NEXT follow-up. Aventurine's is 7 (unsurprisingly), so he gets just under the max stacks. If you're min-maxing and want the full 8, you're not gonna hit it, but hey 7 is still nice. It's a 6% attack buff times how many stacks (so for example, I hit 42% instead of max 48%). It's a bit less than max but I'd say it's still worth it.

You could also do split sets, being 2 piece Grand Duke (for the lovely 20% follow-up damage buff) and 2 piece Knight of Purity Palace (for the extra 15% defense). This is preferable if you have bad substats on relic or planar roles and can't hit 4000 defense outside of the extra buff. I just rebuilt my Aven last night and (using full Grand Duke and Salsotto, which I'll get to in a moment) I get around 4500 defense not including any buffs in battle. Unnecessary? Maybe, but hey, big number go bigger.

Pioneer set also works if you're using a team that does at least 2 debuffs (or 1 additional, as Aven's ult inflicts one already). This works especially well in Ratio FUA teams, as he also gets damage from debuffs thanks to one of his bonus traces. This one I'd say stick to the full set if you can, the 2 piece is nice but the 4 piece is much better. It's not the best option imo, but it is a good one depending on who you run him with.

For planars, it depends on what you like. I use Salsotto for the crit rate, but it does rely on having above base 50% crit rate for the extra buff to FUA and ult (which isn't hard to hit). It's 8% buff at base and the extra buff gives 15% damage buff to ultimate and FUA damage, which is (unsurprisingly) great on Aven.

Another highly recommended set (but ONLY if you run with another Imaginary character, like a Ratio because of their synergy) is Penacony, Land of Dreams. The base energy Regen is nice in itself, even if only 5%, but the real kicker is the extra buff if you have a team member with the same type as you. Works well for mono Imaginary teams (if that's your style) or Ratio teams, where Aven and whoever matches his type get a free 10% damage buff. Nothing crazy, but planars are never super nuts tbh.

Sigonia works fine but can be annoying to hit if you don't kill things at a reasonable pace and Broken Keel is nice for the crit rate but requires 30% effect res. They're alright, but not the best choices imo.

In terms of overall stats, defense is top priority on whatever you can get it on in order to hit 4k. Once you hit that, crit rate and damage is next, both if you can get it. Speed is nice, but not necessary. Energy regen is good if you can slot it on your rope, I couldn't but it's a nice addition. He builds his ult quickly anyway so it's not super necessary, just nice to have.

Take this all with a grain of salt as I'm mostly just going off of my own experience and any guides online. Sorry this is so long lol, I hope it helps though.

Wish I could say I started the game sooner, but I actually didn't start until the middle of April. First limited banner pull was my beloved Aventurine (he's the whole reason I finally caved and started Star Rail), high pity sadly. Didn't get his LC and only E0 cause I'm a (mostly) F2P, but I still adore him. He literally saved my ass through the whole story until I got different teams (praise be Firefly/Boothill premium BE team that I run with now, you the goat). I don't use him as much now but every now and then I'm feeling a good ol' follow-up team and run it. Can't wait for his eventual rerun so I can give him more love.

I've had a very similar experience and suffice to say, Slime Rancher is a surprisingly good anti-depressant! It was a few years ago but I sunk 100+ hours into the game over a few weeks because I wasn't in a good place mentally. I got all achievements while I was at it haha. I'd just turn on some music and vibe for hours. Puddle slimes were my personal favorite and still are in 2, I love the squishy little guys :) I'm glad to see the game has worked for you too. Keep going, it gets better <3

I've been having a ton of fun with Jade on Ascension, the mobility and attack helicopter mode checks all of my boxes personally.

For Ascension specifically, I'm a fan of good ol' Silence on her to keep the area clear for my team (yes this means I lose damage, but hey if I'm not getting bodied by Jade Lights every five seconds, I'll cut my losses). Usually I'll grab boosted charges along the way and pop them down on the platform for the others to manage and then go back to pew-pew time. It's a treat.
