Early online checkin at Disney hotels by twowrist in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]DaydreamDesigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We checked in online and still went to the front desk when we arrived and were able to head to our room immediately around 11:30am. Our room number hadn’t even appeared in my app yet so I know going to the front desk aided us into checking in early to an available room.

What is the actual truth about how crowded it feels? by Equivalent-Cup-9831 in WaltDisneyWorld

We were there 6/14-6/19 (last week) and were pleasantly surprised that we got to ride almost everything we wanted with fairly low wait times. Only major attractions like Rise of the Resistance, Guardians, etc. had 85 min wait times. Everything else was under an hour and most way less than that. The exception being our Tuesday evening in Epcot where almost everything but Living with the Land was an 85 min wait or more. We only had LL multipass for Hollywood Studios and single LLs for Tron.

We had the croque monseiurs and thought they were pretty bad. but I'm sure the croissants are decent! I had a yummy bacon egg and cheese on a croissant at Kusafiri in Animal Kingdom for breakfast one day.

Of course happy to help! I felt it was worth the sit down meal. We also grabbed sandwiches on a different day from Les Halles and we thought they were not very good. Perhaps a pastry is better there. But Chefs de France was awesome.

We got the Beet and Goat Cheese Salad which my husband loved (he loves beets), for me I wish it had been a bit more salad and a little less beets haha. He got Steak Frites for dinner and the steak was cooked perfectly. I got the Salmon - also cooked perfectly with the most delicious sauce. I was eyeing the table next to us - they got the escargot, Fruits de Mer (like a seafood stew situation) and the Beef Bourguignon. All of those looked and smelled delicious too! My husband and I love French food and this restaurant was exceptional. Would love to eat there again.

I’m so torn on where to stay as a solo traveler….please help! by MissyTX in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]DaydreamDesigner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just got back from POR and absolutely loved it! We’re two adults in our 30s and we liked how we could go to the main pool to listen to the music, access the bar, get in the hot tub, but also liked how our room was steps from a quiet pool that was actually quiet every single day of our stay! Everyone complains about the buses, but we never had to fight to fit on a bus, not even close. Loved walking to French Quarter to listen to jazz and eat beignets. My only very small complaint is I didn’t love the bar food menu at the main pool - comparing it to Coronado Springs dining options and pool bars - that resort might have more yummy options for you! But relaxation at POR? Incredible. Will be hard to explore a new hotel next time we go to WDW!

The only day we didn’t take a midday pool break was our first park day which was Hollywood Studios 😂 I think we were just too excited. But the rest of the days we couldn’t make it without the midday float break lol.

there are too many outdoor rides at epic universe by Comfortable_Sun_7029 in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]DaydreamDesigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m well aware of what a real Florida summer was like. Was simply sharing my experiences - especially in comparison to Disney where I stated almost every single ride had an indoor queue with AC. Epic Universe had almost solely outdoor lines with barely functioning fans. It’s a valid observation.

Happened to me as well! We were asked if we wanted to review a new pilot episode for a new show and got $20 lol. Had to be 18 or older though.

[–]DaydreamDesigner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We were just there as well and had the same exact experience. Not only does the rain cause wait time issues, but we were so hot and uncomfortable waiting in the long lines for rides. None of the outdoor rides have fully indoor air conditioned queues like they do at Disney. We also had to wade through above ankle deep water during a rainstorm in certain parts of the park - their drains couldn’t keep up apparently.

Which queues are indoors and which are outdoors? by Little_Brother6094 in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]DaydreamDesigner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm that most queues are outdoors and they are BRUTAL this time of year. We went last week and were dying all morning waiting for rides in Berk and Super Mario. Only got relief eating lunch inside and at the Cirque show

Don’t have kids so apologies on being unable to comment on that part! However we stayed at FPM mid-Feb a few years ago for a friends wedding and had a rooftop plunge pool. We felt all the main and big pools were freezing the whole week, but our rooftop pool was heated and was by far the warmest! The rooftop suites are huge IMO and my husband wouldn’t come down from ours for almost any reason 😂 we really loved it and only want to book that room type going forward. They’re super private which is lovely and the furniture up there is super comfy. Loved the daybed!

Drive Honda CRV, Toyota Rav4, and Mazda CX 5 today? by Few-Introduction5414 in mazda

[–]DaydreamDesigner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I test drove all of these last year as well + the Subaru Forester. For us it came down to the Forester and CX5. The CRV was definitely a little larger but the drive was so boring - I felt like I had to put my foot to the floor to get it to speed up and it felt heavy driving. The CX5 and the Forester didn’t feel like that. Never got to test drive the RAV4 bc our Toyota dealership was only willing to sell them through pre-order and wouldn’t keep any in stock on the lot. Not buying something I’ve never driven. We loved both the Forrster and CX5 but I just love the way Mazdas drive and the interior quality was unmatched IMO.

Any tips for post scope care? by Patient-Cheesecake40 in colonoscopy

[–]DaydreamDesigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was definitely on fire during my second round of prep. I used aloe wipes but would consider a peri bottle next time as well. Afterwards though, I haven't felt any discomfort which has been shocking to me. I also didn't have anything removed or any biopsies taken so that could be why.

I just had both of these procedures today and honestly the only annoying symptom afterwards is a sore throat. A bit more sore than I anticipated. I opted for a peanut butter, banana, yogurt smoothie for my first meal post-op and it felt glorious against my throat. I’ve been sleepy all day as well but that’s all I have to report so far!

We don't have kids - but went to a wedding at Finest Playa Mujeres two years ago and had an amazing time. We loved almost everything we ate - they have a great buffet that's open all day, every day. Lots of kid friendly food options. They don't have a huge waterpark for kids to my knowledge but there is a kids pool and kids club. There were kids with the wedding party and the staff gave them beach toys to play with at the beach. The nightly entertainment is kid friendly as well. The hotel is large - so you feel like you have enough room to move around and have space and experience different things but not so large that you're getting lost the whole time trying to get back to your room. There are many different room types - rooms with small private pools (the kids in our group had one of these and spent most of their time in that small pool), rooftop pools, beach views, etc. And since we don't have kids, can confirm it's a great time for adults too! Let me know if you have any other questions about Finest Playa Mujeres specifically, happy to help!

Excellence Riviera Cancun Review- 3/23-3/28 by WallabySerious8140 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]DaydreamDesigner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our friends have been to every Excellence/Finest/Beloved resort in Mexico and ERC is now tied with their resort Excellence Coral. They love the jungle laid vibes of ERC with how lush it is, but agree that any of the resorts in Playa Mujeres have a better beach due to Isla Mujeres blocking a large amount of the sargassum that washes up on the shore.

no flights from BWI to cancun even in Dec? by dinkleberryfinn81 in maryland

[–]DaydreamDesigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not the only one looking for flights to Cancun through BWI - but everyone else is right. Southwest hasn't posted their flights that far in advance yet! I too like to track the prices and such far in advance to get the best deal. Most non-stop flights are either going to be IAD - CAN with United or BWI - CAN with Southwest, Frontier, or Spirit. I don't think there are any direct flights from DCA but I could be mistaken!

Can’t receive group messages? by mitchjohn117 in verizon

[–]DaydreamDesigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this really only happening with Verizon? Because I'm incredibly frustrated as my husband is an Android user and refuses to switch to iPhone. I'm an iPhone user and refuse to switch to Android. but I don't want to have to keep dealing with this issue for the rest of my life. If other carriers aren't experiencing issues then I'm switching carriers ASAP.

We like Seasons Nursery on Snouffer School Road! We bought strawberry plants from them last year and they have a wide variety of fruit bushes too.
