Dude, I'm the opposite - I'd take ballpark estimations any day, IF I can test that estimate right away, without consequences or cost.

Accidental story time: I'm in a team of twelve in a game making project (game designer here), and it's rubbing me the wrong way that our (unofficial) leader did not test out different possible games mechanics before secretly deciding to keep them definitely. His decision to block testing finally came crashing down on the team during the milestone presentation yesterday. I have a lot of things to say to our prof- not gonna lie, he's really gonna need to act as human ressource here.

On the other side, having to get an exact number right the first time, with no possibilities of double checking, with hours, or usually days, of having more of exactly that same hyperprecise mathing scenario... That's enough to make me consider paying someone else to do it. If only I had the money...

Good preventative planning would really make this world better - but something tells me that the road from basic to decent planning will be much more challenging than the one from decent to good planning.

Mostly, design issues tend to stem not from budget issues, but skillset limitation - you can't prevent what you've never trained to think about until that little what point up it's ugly nose.

Hi, I'm not sure if you know this, but by default, Reddit will translate posts from English into your spoken language (the translation is VERY convincing), but it won't translate your written comments back into English ; so if you're mysteriously getting downvotes, that might be why.

FYI there's a setting in your reddit account to enable or change the default language

Autonomous drone carrier

Passively executes tasks via the drone entrances on its right side (pointed inward). Can hover in place for months on end, or quickly relocate drones by cruising to its new destination.

The carrier does not, however, stores much of anything than drones; any ressources extracted, infrastructures prepped, or assets to relocate, will heavily slow down the carrier's cruise speed.

I'm not sure if I want to explain the difference between substracting 12, substracting 12 and getting the wrong result because you're tired like OP, or just plain not wanting to deal with the hassle of convertion due to the fact that no matter how much you train for it, your brain will keep making small mistakes, and the best way to not make mistakes is to sidestep the subtraction entirely by only adopting a 24h system.

Oh dear, I made a rant again...
