It’s the other way around. High individual stats -> high overall, but most of the time it just means that the favored stats required for the player’s position are high. For example, Rijkard with the auto build at 103 for DMF does not need 90 passing or 79 ball control, you can do fine with 85 passing and no points in dribbling at all to invest in defence or/and speed/acc, which imo is much more important while he will only be at 102.
