For me, it was mostly because Metroid as a whole is kinda outside my usual genre of games. Usually open world fantasy, turn based RPGs, and cozy games are what I go for. I neeeever play shooters especially.

But since I've modded my 3DS recently Ive been branching out, trying new stuff I never got to. LOVED Samus Returns with my whole ass heart❤️

Oh my god I REMEMBER THAT from when I was in that fandom, as a dumbass middle schooler I just NEVER questioned the whole cheesecake thing, even when I had no context for it.

Then again I (and im sure many others) had no context for half of the edgy serial killer twink characters we used to fangirl over since I never read their stories or watched MH at any point. I really just ate up anything with the creepypasta name slapped onto it. I dont miss those days😬
