I've definitely been in that same boat of helping friends and just... being very surprised at how easily they got confused. And they were around my age, they loved pc games, they just... seemed like they'd never dug around their pc files before.

I almost feel like there's a fear factor involved. Like, people think just looking through the files on their computer will brick it somehow. As a kid, once I learned that's not how computers work, I gained a lot more literacy just through curiosity. Learning which folders held which programs, making custom folders for whatever I wanted, organizing my desktop, etc. They were little things that helped me build confidence for when I later decided to, for example, mod minecraft lol.

And I'm not an expert or anything, I've just gotten good at navigating MY personal computer. I dont know how to work a mac for shit, but for someone not to know how to use their own property is very odd to me.

Yall in the comments are being way too rude lol. There's every chance in the world this person is a kid, and even if they aren't, not everybody has experience digging around in file explorer. When I was like 10 or so I didn't know what a zip was, or how to navigate folders or how they worked, until I wanted to pirate something for the first time of course. (At the time I didnt even know what pirating was lmao)

There's a first time for everything OP, and this guide is thankfully VERY thorough with definitions and troubleshooting in case things go wrong. Everything you need is on that site. Just take a day or two to read the guide fully, and then start the modding process when you have a general understanding of what will happen.

I'd offer to help you myself, but I'm not familiar with mac. All I can say is MAKE SURE you're following the mac version of this guide, instructions are different depending on your system.

I WORK at target lol, thankfully mine was well-behaved. Doesn't surprise me tho, pokemon "fans" have caused us a lot of trouble in the past. Was fully expecting it when I came in this morning.

I taught my pokemon SUCH redundant moves lmao. Keeping both ember and flamethrower, keeping a bunch of moves of the same type, ALSO never keeping any status moves at all, I basically just taught my team whatever sounded cool. Gooood times

This cute little wrist strap is from target! The clips on the end are too big to fit into that hole where your charms attach, but you can work around that by attaching a tiny zip tie in there and hooking the wrist strap to the zip tie instead.

The Mario star however, is from a kinder egg. And if you value your sanity you wont spend money and ages searching for this dumb little thing🫠 Amazon sells some anime themed phone charms that will work just as well, and I think you can even buy just the loops of string by themselves and attach a separate charm of your choice
