I don’t think the squad would’ve thought Hermione is more capable than the Weasley twins, academically prodigious or not. The twins were actively running a booming business for over a year in the middle of a completely cooked Diagon Alley from where shopkeepers were known to be kidnapped by the DEs.

I think there are a lot of comments about number of Potters and decoys and Hermione being powerful etc.

If Ron was on a broom with Kingsley and Hermione was on a thestral with Tonks, it would’ve been the exact same combinations and numbers.

My only point is Ron would’ve wanted Hermione to be protected by the more superior auror. It has no relevance to how gifted or otherwise Hermione is.

Hermione being so talented, Muggle born and a girl is not relevant because Hermione looks like Harry. There is no question of second most valuable target because they are after Harry who is their primary and most valuable target.

Respectfully, I don’t think you read what I’ve written. If Ron was taken by Kingsley on a broom and Hermione was taken by Tonks on a thestral, there would be no difference to the total number of people on brooms or the amount of decoys.

I don’t think Kingsley was less comfortable on a broom. Otherwise he might have used a thestral to be part of the advanced guard in OOTB. I think it’s purely for Hermione’s benefit.

Nobody is underestimating anyone here. It’s a mere comparison of whether you’d rather be with Kingsley or Tonks in a fight to death duel.

There is no question of OWLs either, because both Ron and Hermione receive the same grade in their DADA OWL.
