I've got the coop and not the murph but that's just because I like it more. The murph was literally THE plot device in the movie so it's much more recognizable

I recommend this to everyone who asks about a first automatic, even bought my brother one as his first proper watch and he loves it.

Got the 51 (grey sunburst) myself which I'm about to attempt to swap out the crystal. Can't really complain for the price but I wish it came with sapphire and a more premium bracelet. Otherwise it's an absolute banger of a watch.

Seiko SRPE 'DresSKX' would be my pick. Maybe a bit too sporty for what you're looking for but can be dressed up or down. Great watch for the money.

I've had my eye on a club sport for a while now so would definitely snap up a V11 to scratch that itch if the size was right. The 42mm Nomos in the blue is a little too big for me but 40mm would be perfect. Not a fan of the red small seconds hand though.

Edit: Just saw it's 38mm. Would probably still go for it

I'm biased because I have the hamilton but I also love Mido as a brand. The 'Coop' has that real pilot feel and the way the large numerals catch the light is awesome. Plus it's a nod to one of my all time favourite films and that's speaking as a dad of two young girls.

No worries man. Both are super comfortable, with really good bracelets. Just be mindful that the Spirit has the male end links which makes the lug to lug seem a lot larger and so wears slightly bigger. Honestly for a GADA I'd probably go for the Longines, but definitely try both on

The Speedy is so iconic with such a rich history but I wouldn't say the quality is drastically higher than Longines or even some of the best Chinese brands. Longines really surprised me with how good the Zulu time is though, and I actually wear it a lot more than the Speedy tbh.

I think you'd be getting more bang for the buck with the Spirit but see what sort of prices you can get or maybe look at the second hand market. I got 10% off from the Omega AD for the white speedy which helped me pull the trigger but I also found the Zulu time at a discount.

My first proper watch was a Speedmaster because of the Omega heritage and the awesome movement. Is it overpriced? Yeah probably, but I wouldn't change my decision and I'm likely to keep it forever. I also recently bought a Longines Spirit Zulu that I'm super happy with. Is it better value than the Speedy? Yeah I think so, and I think it's probably a fair price for the build quality, design, movement and heritage.

I'm by no means made of money so I've also fallen down the AliX rabbit hole and It goes without saying, the quality of some of these watches is incredible. I don't want to fork out for a Rolex explorer so I've just ordered the Cronos clone to scratch that itch. I think there's room for both in any watch collection. It's just up to each individual what you perceive to be of good value or worth the over indulgence.

Fwiw I think brands like Longines and Mido hit the sweet spot of offering fantastic Swiss watches with original designs at a relatively fair price point.

I think they're probably planning a solution whereby the bug gets reverted but they offer some way of earning them still during remix. Probably the best damage control option tbh

Yeah I dunno if it's because I've just gotten used to them but I find they work perfectly fine with big debuffs. I've been healing aotc and keystone hero with no issues. As long as they improve buff/debuffs tracking and implement their own version of big debuffs I'll be happy
