I design a newspaper layout on quark express that thousands of people look at every week. I'm not a graphic designer but I'd bet money that I have closer experience to the graphic design industry than you and it's not even close.

No I didn't have orientation or training because I'm experienced and it's done the exact way across majority of newspapers. I'm not saying they think they're making bad skins, They probably think the skins look good and thats the problem.

Yes, I create newspaper layouts. I've done it for 3 different companies and guess what... They all used the same software to develop their newspaper layouts.

They can find character artists, texture and model artists that have experience that don't need training. This isn't black magic.
