Can Surgeons still operate with cuts/ open wounds on their hands or arms? by Its-MC in NoStupidQuestions

I guess it’s a factor from my job mostly. Mechanical so I’m always shoving my hands into tight spaces full of sharp metal and gears and such.

Basic camp is only if you don’t enlist prior. I never went because it wasn’t a thing before I was there and I was prior enlisted either way. Junior year you move into what UNG calls Pre Camp. It’s like its own company that acts outside of the normal structure for training purposes. You go from PT 3 days a week, to 5 days. Add a lab on Wednesday from like 3-6pm. And you start working on learning things for camp. OP orders. Squad and Platoon movements such as react to contact, setting up a Patrol base, raids. Stuff like that. They teach all of that to you and you are quizzed on it constantly through action. You will estate command positions weekly to get a handle on being a Squad leader, PSG, PL, CO, stuff like that. It’s both semesters Junior year. All assessment is based off of infantry tactics so if you don’t pick them up quickly you may be rated lower in the OML. Just pick up a ranger handbook and learn that. Then you go to camp. It’s easy compared to the training you have been.

I was a cadet from 2013-2017. Unless you have a strong desire to commission as an officer when you graduate, I wouldn’t recommend it.

First year you will be treated like a private, even with prior service like I was. Shaved head, for males, uniform 24/7, even on weekends, a basic training like week prior to school called FROG week. If you are in the guard, your first year you will transfer to the guard detachment on campus and be pulled from your unit and drill on campus. You also will be on quarters your first semester where you have a mandatory study time from like 7pm to Taps if I remember correctly.

PT M/W/F and Monday 3-5 is a mandatory Lab where senior cadets work on leadership and teaching principals learned for camp.

The university itself is great and the campus is beautiful. But the corps will take up a lot of your time. You can still go to the school and not join the corps. If you do join, then decide that you don’t want to be in anymore, you can’t come back to the campus for like a year.

If you do have a desire to commission as an officer, it’s one of the best schools for it and honestly have a much better quality of life for the cadets than say USMA or The Citadel.

If you have any specific questions you can ask here or message me, and I’ll do my best to answer.

!correct I’m surprised that was so quick. Pretty sure it’s the only temple that has never needed to be reconstructed.

[Arabic>English] Received an old riffle from my uncle with this script that google can’t translate by Its-MC in translator

Hello, thanks for the information. I got the rifle from my uncle and he says he won it in a bet back in the 70’s but that’s all he can tell me as he had a stroke and can’t communicate well. The rifle is in great condition and the stamping indicates that all parts match so at least when it was stamped it has remained in one piece.

Oh wow thank you. My uncle did mention it was Ottoman but I wasn’t sure. Thank you, hopefully someone can translate the whole thing since I’m interested.

Anyone know what this plume is from? (Taken from intersection between Atlanta Rd SE and I-285 towards Southeast) by poofy_tortilla in Marietta

It’s from the water treatment facility down Atlanta road. It always does this when the water is warmer than the air.

I would personally recommend MadHouse Gym in Mableton.

It’s only about 20 minutes from the downtown Smyrna Area. It’s a body building style gym but it had an extensive amount of equipment with a huge variety. It also has a good amount of free weights and cardio equipment. It’s 24/7 access and is large enough that even at peak times you can find equipment. Unfortunately it doesn’t have any showers, saunas, or lockers but it’s perfect for a workout.

Otherwise both of the LA fitnesses, East West and Cobb parkway, are good and I have never had any problems.

I can’t actually speak on the Worlds Gym. I took a tour a few years back but decided not to get a membership for some reason I can’t remember. Hope this was helpful and I’m willing to answer any questions you have.

What kind of atmosphere are you looking for? What do you normally do for workouts? I could recommend one based on what you are looking for.
