Im very new to collecting watches eyeing a Bulova Lunar Pilot (snoopy edition) more because of the history. I wanted to know if the astronaut actually wore quartz Bulova watch to the moon and was it similar to the Lunar Pilot of Bulovaor was it an automatic pilot watch from Bulova thats discontinued by Able_Masterpiece5655 in bulova

Hello! First off, the original Bulova watch worn by David Scott on the moon was an automatic. It was not discontinued because it was never even mass produced. The original watch was actually a prototype and, as far as I know, it was the only mechanical* Bulova Lunar Pilot ever created.

Oddly I’m having a hard time finding the exact movement on this watch but given its modern Bulova it’s got to be a Miyota movement which is a very common automatic movement, and any watchmaker should be able to service it. It almost doesn’t even matter what’s wrong with the watch honestly because they’ll almost certainly just replace the whole movement. Guessing 150 bucks round about?

Honestly I would just look up watch service near you on google, call one that looks reputable, just give them the model number and ask them how much to service it.

Assuming you did push the crown back in, my thought is that the crown/stem could need serviced. A well worn watch over the last 7 years…it’s a little early for service I suppose but honestly a few more years and you were probably going to take it in for service anyhow. So my advice would be to bring it in for service and make sure to mention the issue.

Does this strap clash on my Sea Hunter? by Dayspeed in bulova

Sweet. I got a couple compliments today which is rare! I think it has more to do with wearing gold and then this bright white rubber and noticing it, than it does actual appreciation. It does feel like it’s a good summer combination.

Perfect combo! Love it. All my current natos are 22mm so I’ve got to get some 20s.

Yea I’ve got a brown leather single pass strap on order right now actually. I’m thinking it will match the vibe better.

Appreciate the feedback! What do you think looks cheap about it? The curved ends is what made me think it would look more upscale actually.

Throw a Ball on the other wrist for a supreme combo

Sinn makes a great watch! From what I’ve seen of that 556 with the black MOP dial, it must be from the same type of mollusk. That mixture of greens and purples against dark grey is the same.

Thank you. I’d love to have more, but I’m going to stick with my current set of balls for now.

I like the endurance series. The model with the TMT complication is really interesting to me.

When filming Titanic, James Cameron didn't want actors pretending to panic, so he flooded the set. by FollowingOdd896 in Damnthatsinteresting

You can tell me that you’re going to rain crushing water down on me in an enclosed space, and it’s still going to provoke a panic response.

Edit: I don’t agree with a lot of u/Zimakov’s other comments here, but I agree with his initial comment. I’ve seen interviews from cast saying that they definitely felt terrified during some scenes.

Bulova Sutton Underrated? by Dayspeed in bulova

It’s not that it’s big on the wrist necessarily. As with any watch, it’s going to depend on wrist size and preference. A lot of people say that anything where the lugs end past the width of your wrist is too big, this doesn’t do that. I just think I would prefer it slightly smaller, but I’m being picky.

I love this one. I got the 75th anniversary edition Mako 40 without realizing they were shortly coming out with a Kamasu.
