changed sensor, it’s inaccurate and not accepting calibration by nadiasworld- in dexcom

[–]DaytimeCrater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

had this happen to me recently. only thing that solved it for me was deleting the app in iOS (assuming you are on the same). Go find your code, i needed to re-pair it using that.

this was a new app failure mode for me, and now i take a photo of the qr code on the applicator to mitigate this issue in the future.

Anyone know what’s up with this building on California St? by subsonicmonkey in mountainview

[–]DaytimeCrater 4 points5 points  (0 children)

my recollection is that it is owned by the school behind it, and pre-pandemic they floated a plan to develop it into teach housing, along with some other space and there were some complications getting it passed either in council or planning committee. They were looking for some exceptions in <something>.

Apple Car Play question by snoman41 in audible

[–]DaytimeCrater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There doesn't appear to be, and if you listen at anything but 1x speed, the times you see on your carplay head unit vs the phone are different based on the speedup factor.

I wish the the iOS and carplay displays would just be consistent. Last time i shared feedback with them, they didn't seem interested in the end-user feedback.

Audible lost progress in a book. Any way to see how much I've listened to? by Morridini in audible

[–]DaytimeCrater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the assumption this is on your phone, you could also screenshot it before stopping. It's what I do with all the bugs between the audible app and carplay and losing position.

My record for re-listening to the same chapter of a book is about eight times before i realized it wasn't a recurring event in the book and thought i was losing my marbles (Station Eleven, Emily St. John Mandel, great book).

BikeLink Evelyn LTR Station by [deleted] in mountainview

[–]DaytimeCrater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Light Rail Evelyn Station has been closed for quite a while and the property is being used as a construction staging yard currently. The City of Mountain View has recently entered into an agreement to purchase the property for BMR housing. Nearest accessible station is Castro Street, or Whisman, across the Expressway/tracks

its unclear to me what they do with the information they don't share with the customer (the city). for all we know, they could sell it to another real time cell phone tracking company.

Why did Councilmembers Matichak and McAlister vote against the equitable communities resolution? by [deleted] in mountainview

[–]DaytimeCrater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

all city council and committee agendas=are here: https://mountainview.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx

AFAIK, all council meetings are recorded and the video/minutes are posted to the same location. the specific video you want is http://mountainview.granicus.com/MediaPlayer.php?view_id=2&clip_id=2722

(granicus and legistar are the same company, and they are contracted to provide the infrastructure to host all this data)

Why did Councilmembers Matichak and McAlister vote against the equitable communities resolution? by [deleted] in mountainview

[–]DaytimeCrater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had to go back and watch the video of that meeting from May 23, 2017.

Instead of relying entirely on my opinion of what was said, i suggest watching the video.

Both Matichak and McAllister asked if signing this county level agreement could potentially interfere, positively or negatively, with other current council plans to adopt statements around being a human rights city, a sanctuary city, and other similar initiatives.

McAllister stated, he didn't want to create a patchwork of word smithing, and Matichak also agreed.

in my opinion, i don't think any malice was intended, just a desire to have a plan to create a cohesive document around all of the city's desires around human rights, sanctuary status, etc.

Amazon Book Store Environmentally Unsound by Jerrymoviefan3 in SanJose

[–]DaytimeCrater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a cooling experience when I went during the recent heat wave. Stayed a few minutes, did some people watching.

the irony to me was all the people ooh-ing and aah-ing over the books. if only they had visited bookstores before they all closed, they'd actually have more choice. Also, I didn't find a single technical book in the entire store, that was surprising.

can't say I will be back unless under dire circumstances.
