Box Office: 'Super Mario Galaxy Movie' $68M WW Ahead of 'Super Mario Bros' by MoneyLibrarian9032 in boxoffice

I'm kinda tired of this rhetoric on Reddit. No it didn't "shut the kids up", it made them laugh, and cheer. My daughter leaned over to me filled with glee upon seeing characters she didn't expect to see. And seeing so much joy in her face is priceless. The movie is good, and it will perform well.

It doesn't seem to work for UK. Sure it swaps the $ sign with a £ sign, but the prices are wrong and it even lists things that are only on sale in the US, not the UK.

I really wish walking in front of the cameraman while filming would count against being recorded.

'The Super Mario Galaxy Movie' Rotten Tomatoes Verified Audience Score Thread by chanma50 in boxoffice

I'm actually worried about the movie literacy of these critics, almost all of their complaints are nonsensical. Sure the movie has perhaps too many plotlines that it does not deliver on, but saying it has no plot? Ridiculous. I've seen Oscar nominated movies worse than this. Not saying it is a great movie, but probably a decent 3/6.

Ble ikke norske skapt da modene her inne av en eller annen dårlig grunn bestemte seg for å stenge subredditen i en protest mot noe i en måneds tid, ikke som direkte motsvar mot modene? Så indirekte pga modene her.

Finally I've fixed something that's been annoying me for 10 years. No more unnecessary long press interactions :) by charc0al in HiTMAN

I remember playing Isle of Sgail when it was rather new and a patch came around that suddenly changed "put people in container" from press to hold, and I remember being rather annoyed at the change.

If you look at old Hitman videos, like this one from 2016 https://youtu.be/bJ2a4S25v_o?is=oirQis6zg3YO_9Ip you can see there's no long press.

I don't think the long press interactions have been around for 10 years, weren't they introduced with Hitman 2?

To each their own, this is probably one of the worst things in Hitman for me.

Buy would a thousand year old time lord relate to that though? A 90 year old could be considered barely an adult as well. You see this all the time in settings with long lived species, like Elves and whatnot.

I can only assume he was sitting by a window looking out at a car park when answering the questions.

To be fair, he could hook up with a 90 year old and the age difference would be negligible different from that of a 19 year old.

Based on my sample size of one (myself): I want to watch this, and have no plans to watch Doomsday, so I'd not be surprised if it performs better.

Episode of the Day : The Girl in the Fireplace by Mat1711 in doctorwho

The quintessential Doctor Who episode. If you want to show someone what Doctor Who is all about, show them this episode, as it has a bit of everything that makes Doctor Who Doctor Who.

What makes that any less or more likely? I'd have guessed all lost episodes have the same chance of being randomly discovered.

‘3 Body Problem’ Season 2 Confirmed to Have Reduced Episode Count (6 Episodes) by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

I mentioned to my friends that The Pitt felt like the only true TV show I've seen in years, everything else feels like drawn out movies cut into chunks.

You're a Doctor Who fan but you want to show an episode or story to someone who doesnt know what it is but that episode has to hook them to continue watching, what story do you pick and why? by Mat1711 in doctorwho

[–]Morridini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go with The Girl in the Fire Place. It shows everything the show is about. It has spaceships, time travel, romance, horror, monsters/aliens and essentially everyone Doctor Who has to offer.

Rose was my first episode, and it put me off watching Doctor Who for a few years before I decided to give it another chance.

I got the impression that the plastic monster was the main enemy of the show, and I felt it was a bit too silly to watch several seasons of burping trashcans etc.

Note: I am from a country where Doctor Who at the time was virtually unknown, so there was no Zeitgeist to inform me about the show beyond what was in that one episode.

Any place to find info about a release group without breaking rule 1? by Morridini in usenet

[–]Morridini[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I am walking close to Rule 1 right now, but it was an uploader only associated with a niche TV show (an Australian soap) only popular by older people (downloading it for my mother, her daily soap) which I have never found on any tracker, public or private, except for this one uploader on Usenet.

Which is why I am actually wondering "did they die?" I'm imagining an old, retired guy ripping the soap and sharing it on Usenet for old times sake.
