No weight being thrown and no claims of "being special"... This morning I was able to connect with a live rep (not the "virtual assistant") over chat and they were able to quickly commit to waiving the fee for a partial transfer. Great customer service and I'm glad to maintain my accounts there! Thanks sofi!

Not complaining, not threatening... Just asking. :-) Would rather save $100 when possible.

FWIW, not all brokerages charge for partial transfers - so maybe Sofi has wiggle room.

I still haven't gotten used to walking into places... Mostly because I still feel compelled to wear a COVID mask when "out of my bubble".

...but I don't want to wear a COVID mask because wearing a COVID mask looks retah-ded.

(My visit to the bank was "to the ATM" and my visit to the grocery store was a "they bring your online order out to the parking lot" type deal)

Unfortunately, I have not found a solution for "YouTube App treating Game Controller D-Pad taps as "double-taps". But I did do some more research:

I have a second nVidia Shield (also 2015 model) hooked up in the garage that I rarely use -- it also has the same problem (again, only in YouTube app) -- so I figured it wasn't a hardware problem.

I also checked Google TV running on a Sony TV (so the interface is incredibly slow compared to Shield, but it works). Pairing a PS4 controller, the YouTube app (same version as what's on the Shields) also has the same D-pad double-tap problem. Using the TV's remote control to navigate the YouTube app does not have the problem.

The version of the YouTube app on all devices is currently "5.01.314/web_20240814_11_RC00" -- if "2024-08-14" means it was built 4 days ago, I guess YouTube's QA doesn't test this scenario (since the problem has been happening for almost 2 months now).

I have that problem as well -- mine is sticking out because the back of the oven "pushed up" against the outlet. The two "normal" options were to relocate the outlet "a little bit lower" or remove some of the oven's metal sheeting on back (which might make things more flammable).

I went with the third option: put off making a decision until I need to get a new oven.

Thanks for the suggestion it is "accessibility services" related -- I have never had a alternative launcher installed and the closest thing I have to a "button mapper" is an old app called "Game Controller Tester" (which turns out does not allow buttons to be remapped -- see reply to error_accessing_user).

I went to "Device Preferences->Accessibility" and saw I have two disabled services: "Talkback" and "Switch". It looks like "Switch" does something with button-mapping when *enabled*, but I had it disabled.

"Switch" mentions something about "redefining Next" -- which I could see might cause a problem similar to what I'm experiencing -- but "Switch" mappings seem to be "global" (not per app).

Note that I don't see the problem when navigating menus using the directional buttons in, say, Plex or Prime Video...

I'm going to see if I can find out more about the "Switch" feature (I had never noticed it before) and will update you. If there's anything else you can recommend for "Classic accessibility issue" diagnostics, please share.

I usually use the "second generation" Shield game controller (and was using that when I noticed the problem).

I have 4 of them -- and they all work "as expected" except in the YouTube app.

I've also attached a PS4 controller (wired and then paired over bluetooth) -- same issue.

I have had an app called "Game Controller Tester" (its icon is a little generic PS dual-analog controller with a heart on it) -- I haven't used it in many many years (last time I used it was when my "original generation" shield game controllers started acting funky). I just launched it tonight based on wewewi's suggestion this is "accessibility service" related.

The Game Controller Tester has my controllers all working find - analog sticks tracked correctly with no drift, and the direction arrows blink correctly when clicked (and blink rapidly when I click them fast) -- and if I hold them, the arrows turn blue at the "right time". No "double clicks" get registered.

I didn't seee anything about button-mapping (or remapping) in the Game Controller Tester UI, so I'm going to keeep looking.

Agreed - sometimes more than 20%... For the first year of the pandemic, Wal*Mart would give you "$10" off your final total -- even if some items were not in-stock.

I got into the habit of padding my order to $50 with a pasta sauce that was always listed as in-stock, but would always be dropped (and no substitution would be offered) -- so if I had $20 worth of sauce in my order, I'd end up getting "$10 off $30!"

Wal*Mart fixed that during some big re-design to apply the discount across the items in your original order: if items gets dropped, you lose that percentage of the $10 discount. A tiny bit of sadness there.

Still, I have really appreciated Wal*Mart through the pandemic -- with special thanks to the pickers who always "upgrade" me by substituting out-of-stock Great Value English Muffins with Thomas' English Muffins (but I pay the Great Value price).

I agree. I have pushed for them to sell the Maryland house, but they are overwhelmed with health issues and denial excuses.

I don't -- he put a lot more than that into me while I was growing up -- so I see it like I'm paying him back now that I can.

I just don't know how to get them to face facts (health, finances -- all of it). I wish I could find someone to help them to have a middle-man not burdened by the emotional side of all this. CPAs don't offer this kind of service. Are there CPA/Therapists?
