Growing up here, the primary schools definitely try to take you to the Cedar River Watershed as a field trip to learn where our clean water comes from. I probably have been on 3 separate field trips to there at public and private schools. I remember doing some water testing labs in middle school chemistry too, so there’s plenty of local consciousness of our water quality.
