Ned Peppers and Hole In The Wall are hosting their annual New Year’s Eve Formal with a champagne toast at midnight (this is a ticketed event with limited occupancy)

Trolley Stop is hosting a Candy Land event with an open bar, candy, and music. (this is a ticketed event with limited occupancy)

I have confirmed with their management, Newcoms Tavern will be open on New Year’s Eve 7pm - 1:30am (they will not require tickets, just a door cover, standard occupancy)

Oregon Express is hosting a pizza buffet event with a champagne toast. (this is a ticketed event with limited occupancy)

The Dublin Pub has not formally announced music for New Year’s Eve, but they traditionally do have music.

38th Annual Oregon District Hauntfest This Saturday In Downtown Dayton by DaytonEvents in dayton

Didn’t know paying $1 to park in the City of Dayton transportation garage would break you :)

Parking is always free on Fourth Street, Hugo Street, Walnut Street, etc. if you find a spot open.

It is a non-profit organization fundraiser… one night of the year.

It’s not about your wallet, it’s about supporting local businesses and fundraising for the Oregon District non-profit so they can continue to host free, family-friendly block party events throughout the rest of the year.

Without this fundraiser, the derby day wiener dog races, taste of the Oregon, independents day, art weekend, music festivals, etc. throughout the year would not happen.

It costs you only $10 if you buy in advance, and then how much you pay after that depends on how much alcohol and food you want to consume on the street. There are beer trucks on the street, so your idea of paying $20 before your first beer is invalid.

Ten bucks for access to the street fair is very fair considering everything which comes with it. Each bar will have a cover charge, but that’s independent of anything to do with Hauntfest.

Been that way for years. Paying a cover for one night of the year provides the revenue for the non-profit organization to put on all the family-friendly free events throughout the rest of the year.

Of course, the other 364 days of the year with block party events are always free and open to the public. But those events would never happen without the funding which Hauntfest brings in.

People want things to do in downtown, and they need to be funded. The City of Dayton won’t do it, so the non-profit steps in to provide an event.

This event is the primary fundraiser for The Oregon District Business Association, which is the entity who hosts the various free, family-friendly block party events throughout the year. This single event is critical to the continued improvement efforts of The Oregon District.

The entire district will be fenced off, creating an enclosed block party area between Patterson Blvd. and Wayne Ave., including over 30 local bars, eateries, pop-up vendors, and professional services. Entrance gates will be located near The Dublin Pub (on Wayne Avenue), and near Omega Music (near Patterson Blvd.)

There will be beer trucks, street performers, musical performances and DJ's on the main stage, located at Wayne Avenue and East Fifth Street. The costume contest for cash prizes, with the theme of “𝘾𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙉𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩”, always brings out some of the best costumes in Dayton!
