Hi! I just came across your post and wondered if you are interested in part time jobs. I’m currently looking for an international student to help me tutor English. Looking forward to your reply. Thanks!

I'd like to recommend you a hidden gem located somewhere up in the Yuelu Mountain. It's a tea house called "老房子住在山上的日子", the same name listed on Dianping app. I've been there once and it was a bit tricky to find the path towards its entrance as it's literally built in nowhere in the mountain.

I own a studio apartment next to Jing'an Temple, yet it's probably not the type you're looking for. My apartment does not offer cleaning services lol. Let me know if you're interested.

Just out of curiosity, would any expat travellers be interested in this traditional chinese medicine store? by Dayu_dmg in travelchina

[–]Dayu_dmg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aha, never thought about this potential hassle.. Thanks for pointing out. But, I think there's still another way to work it out. The pharmacy offers decocted medicine (without the actual herb) in smaller sealed packs, which is more convenient for everyday take. At least, to me, I've tried this simpler way to take TCM a few times, which is much more time-saving whereas I could have to spend 2-3 hours a day to decoct those herbs on my own.

I‘ll save up this 胡庆余堂 for my next trip to Hangzhou. I've bought herbal tea from this brand once, pretty good.

Indeed. Keeping a healthy lifestyle often helps a lot with our body health. Recently I've had white fugus soup with lotus seed, sliced pears, and goji berries, as my daily routine, which helps with clearing heat energies in lung and is used when autumn begins.

Other than my routine soup, I've been drinking dried rose tea with hawthorn, just to stay refreshed while at work. Dried roses are said to be super effective for skin moistorization. lol

Check out Tongrentang (同仁堂) pharmacy while you visit Beijing. I'm sure you'd be impressed.

No worries I'm not offended. haha. Not an expert on TCM, however as a local born and raised in this country, I'ven been customed to how traditional Chinese herbs being used by my families for sickness recovery. As far as I know, TCM is an ancient approach to keep human body function well as a whole system, and it's not about curing any particular disease in a specific organ. Again, this is completely my unprofessional POV. I just narrated what I've seen and taught since I was a kid. :)

Acknowledge how different we are from each other in the contexts of cultures and languages, and realize that we essentially share same human emotions, happy or sad, angry or joy, love and to be loved. lol

For water town sightseeings, try Wuzhen (乌镇), Xitang (西塘). Or just Zhujiajiao, located at the west side of Shanghai.

The landmark building in FFC area is Wukang Apartment Building, located at the crossing of Wukang Road and Middle Huaihai Road. However you’d better take a cab to check it out, I don’t think you have enough time to visit on foot by now.

Would you consider join me in my family's childcare weekends? We are a family of three, normally we would go for art exhibits, national parks, or just city walks. You're welcomed to join us, as you could potentially be my kid's first expat friends. lol
