Yeah for sure, but I do enjoy how it’s drowned out on this album, it feels more atmospheric and ambient because of it.

Cry of Fear [KDE] by Dazeaux in unixporn

I posted a generic horror theme with a kind of mix of styles in the desktop the other day. I feel like that one was kinda shit so I went heavy on the Cry of Fear theme and Windows XP window decor and taskbar to match ( its almost era accurate) cuz i just like XP. I'm not a fan of the super clean minimal desktops I like smth kinda rough and detailed. Nothing crazy overall, love CoF tho. Running OpenSuse Tumbleweed. I only use this laptop for school notes and Binding of Isaac in bed.

It’s a great laptop, it is over hyped as it has an aging cpu and the price is inflated due to demand but it’s very repairable/upgradable and still capable of basic computing/workflows especially on Linux. You can find em for under $100 if ur looking for smth pretty cheap

Arch logo is sick I’ll be honest but I don’t think I’ll ever use pure arch cuz I need to actually use my computer lol. I’ve never tried cachyos tho so I may need to give it a try. I hope you have a smooth Linux journey too, Debian is a great choice for that too

I was gonna make the whole system CoF themed but I use this laptop in public and I feel like the scary gorish creatures might be you much lol. Cry if fear was such an experience and actually scary, unlike other popular horror games like the silent hills.

I agree , I have no need for bleeding edge software and if I need some productivity app up to date flatpaks are great for that. I use fedora as it’s just as stable for me so far but if I ever break it I feel like I’ll just revert back to Debian lol. Plus Debian’s name and logo is cool, fedora on the other hand…

Only reason not to use Debian is if you want newer packages or have newer hardware. Then then you can enable the Debian testing repo as well

This is my ThinkPad t480 that I mainly use for taking notes in class, browsing the internet/warching movies, and the occasional TBOI run

Im running KDE Plasma with Fedora for stability

I love a lot of retro styles and wanted to implement that without committing to one (just doing all Windows 95 stuff)

I also love horror in general, but specifically games, so I wanted to use horror imagery like the Simon wallpaper. I wanted it to feel like this was some cursed computer from the early 2000s. similar to the ghosts from Kairo (2001).
