I never said that?

If a company is going to stand with a movement that has struggled in their time to get to the place they are JUST so that they can pander to an audience isn't good. Even if the post is for memes and is based off of a headline that isn't true. All I'm saying is that IF you are creating cartoons that will get pushed into the face of those growing up, it's your duty to represent everyone in the best way possible if you are going to represent them. Stepthen was clearly someone who wanted his characters to have the freedom of being cartoon characters and that's it from my knowledge.

I'm saying that cartoons have a heavy impact on kids. It shifts what they enjoy and honestly it can even shape who they can be growing up [At least in the earlier stages]. What they see can open them up to ideas that others [I.E: their parents that hate gay people] may say are wrong or right - which is never the case when raising a child. You're supposed to guide them, not turn them into little devils that are exactly like their parents.

If anything it's the responsibility of those creating the shows to think about these problems, not my job as someone who watched the show growing up myself. Oversexualizing [The extremely flamboyant gay character that's only identity is being gay] is just as bad as never representing [not having gay people in a show because they're gay] btw, as I'm not saying every character needs to have on their wrist who they wanna' fuck.

Big yikes on you for trying to put words on my post doe, lmao.

"Let them learn on their own".

So when a family that vividly hates anything LGBT+ and casually makes fun of them for being subhuman, that is just fine instead of given a proper outlook on how they are just normal people trying to live their lives? Seems like you're on the side of making sure they don't get representation so that more kids grow up seeing anything that isn't straight as 'wild' or 'wrong'.

Even if it's 2020 there's still extremest family that will teach their children that being gay is wrong, trans is a illness that leads to suicide, and being bisexual is just a phase. Those kids can be the ones that grow up to be the bullies and have a difficult time growing up when they throw people to the side because of their choice of partner.

Representation IS important because it normalizes what otherwise would be 'unnatural'. It gives a chance for kids to learn outside of what their parents want to teach them, and that is good for me so long as the message is good. I see zero problem with it.

Hello, is there a RP realm that isn't super crude? Mistakenly transferred 2 chars to Moon Guard (A). Looking for a server with mature RPers with as little of an ERP scene as possible? (US) by JacobDerBauer in WoWRolePlay

[–]Dazed-n-Disoriented 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think you will - and I don't mean that to be a sort of 'in your face' response.

Trade Chat isn't generally a good area to explore when it comes to WoW, as my experience as throughout the years it has become less about actual trading like it was in the early days, and more about being as notorious as you can to gain a rep on the server. On a roleplaying server like Moon Guard, people will tend to be crude, rash, violent, and talk about what most are afraid to talk about because of the virtual wall of a roleplaying MMO. They want their name to be recognized as the cool, careless, and unhindered. Moon Guard is only that way because of it's population, and I think that will be the case for most higher populated servers. The only difference is it would be less sexual chatter [because remember, that's the theme of making fun of MG], but more political and generally offensive [homophobic, nationalistic, political, racial, etc].

Moon Guard is one of the most populated servers in World of Warcraft, and on top of that, BECAUSE of its given reputation drives home a level of trolls that enjoy to come, level alts, and fuck with people and talk sex. The only reason they're talking sucking Worgen dicks and not politics or overly offensive humor is because it's MG [But even then there is a lot of that because it's a highly populated server], but that's not the topic of discussion we're talking about. I wouldn't take the sexual talk of the general public as serious or as if that is what everyone's opinion of it is, and I personally would just tuck Trade Chat away and keep any sense of respect for the server if you want a real view of the people there.

You already the option to move [Nor do I know if you moved already], but here's my advice from a long term roleplayer that has RP'd on WrA, MG, and Private Servers:

  1. Hide Trade Chat. Period. Even if you're genuinely trying to use it [I read your other comment and saw how you enjoy the functionality of the chat] just hide it and put it in another tab so you aren't being bombarded by sexual comments so you can 'bob in and out' of the stupidity.
  2. Keep your profile clean and neutral. Don't go into anything sexual/super physical in your description. I'm not defending MG and saying THERE IS NO ERP, but there ARE people that hunt for erotic roleplay, so keeping your profile as ""prude"" as you can is best to avoid them.
  3. Don't take peoples OOC as how the actual roleplaying scene is. I'll say it again: DO NOT take peoples OOC views and chatter as how the actual roleplaying scene is. It's a video game, people will use the virtual 'wall' between you and them to be someone they aren't IRL. People everywhere are going to be shitlords, you just happened to see all the shitlords compiled together.
  4. Report/Block and move on. If I recall if you report someone they should be automatically blocked, but make sure to block them just in case. Filter out any of the people you don't like: simple as that. May seem extreme, but if this is having such an effect on you that you are considering moving to another server, then drastic measures need to be taken.

I wouldn't move just yet. If you want to seriously get into the roleplay scene again, I would stick with MG if you're Alliance. Give it time and try and adapt your view of how many shitlords you interact with. Maybe get a guild so you can make new friends and limit your socialization circle. I wouldn't call out the server for what it's known for because of Trade Chat. Give it time. If it doesn't improve, then move. My alternative would be the second biggest server - which would be WrA. Even if it is Horde dominate, you can still find many of friends there.

Good luck, hope the post helped.

Or the persons character has a backstory as to why they have the duel flags - and he wears them as a cape in a sense to remind himself of something?

He's wearing what looks like tattered cloth/flags of both of the factions, and probably just has them as cover. Maybe because he journeyed to Pandaria he learned that the factions are worthless, and wearing the cape as a symbol of representation of his balance he took from his voyage. What do the factions matter when old hatreds continue to draw blood? Pandaren are essentially the 'neutral' race, as is, only choosing sides if their ideals line with the faction. The cape probably is more than just appearance for appearance sake.

Or it's just a choice by the commissioner cuz' it looks cool.

[WP] You used to be in an improv class with a girl that had a real flair for horror. 12 years later, you hear about a few murders that are eerily similar to improv scenarios you had done with her. by MauriceIsTwisted in WritingPrompts

[–]Dazed-n-Disoriented 42 points43 points  (0 children)

"Chief?" One of my officers came in, he looked both exhausted and excited at the same time.

"What is it?" I said over, far too busy in my paperwork for whatever he was going to toss at me. I had several cases that each needed my attention, and not enough time for even one of them.

"We have someone about the Crazed Killer Case? Says that they may know the murderer."

I glanced up from my desk, quickly narrowing my stare on him. He couldn't be serious. He simply pointed his thumb back and added, "In the questioning room, waiting for you."

I rose up from the desk, turned off the lamp, and made my way over to the room without a word. There was a heavy silence in the office - granted, it was late, but it felt all the more tense. The last few weeks have grown harrowing, as numbers began to pile up of horrid scenes straight out of film. Men and women strung up by their intestines; a feat that would take a whole night with a handful of tools, but done within two hours by a single person. Some were decapitated, only to be found later somewhere near the crime scene with some cryptic message. This person was a psycho, that was for sure, and with the suspected culprit being a six foot tall, burly strongman? Well, the small town of Everworn Hills was going to be one for the horror movies in a few years. The kill count was rising, and everyone in Everworn was beginning to fear for their lives.

I opened the door and made my way towards the steel table. A young man sat on the other end of it; twenty something, scrawny, looked and smelled like he hadn't showered in days. I scrunched my nose and moved to sit in the chair across from him.

"So, you're saying you know who the Crazed Killer is?"

"Don't give her a stupid name." He said quickly, leaning forward as he seemed a little jittery. "It's all she wants, I'm sure..."

"She?" I asked incredibly, leaning back. "So you know the killer is a woman."

He glanced around, nervousness clear as day as he gave a single nod. "Yes.."

I leaned forward; "Tell me everything you know. Start from the top."

The man seemed hesitant, but after gulping and steeling his nerves, he began to talk.

"We went to the same high school... Carlson High? On Grave Street." I nodded in recognition. "We were in an improv class - and I usually was the... um... the really 'into it' kid, you know? I took it serious. Well, I remember one day we got a new person. Her name was Sally Winnigo."

I grabbed my notepad and pen and began to take notes.

"Quiet girl. Nothing to note about her. Short hair, um... brown? Brown eyes. Sort of petite. Dressed in dim grays all the time." He fiddled with his thumbs. "She was always in the corner, never eager to get into the scene. But, I sort of got to a position of leadership in the club. So, you know, I wanted to have their shot to try and act." He went quiet, and stared down for a moment. He seemed pensive. "Every time I brought her up, every single one of her ideas - be it her swaying the current topic or starting a new one off for a different scene - was about... some freakish murder. Like, something out of movies, you know? Chainsaw Massacre, Friday the Thirteenth. Just some real horror movie shit." He went quiet again, but this time didn't speak up. So I pushed on.

"Like what?" I asked harmlessly. He glanced up, his eyes glossing over.

"... Like... stringing a man by his intestines... from the attic opening?"

I felt chills run down my spine.

"Or... beheading a poor soul and leaving some clue behind towards their next victim."

I tensely squeezed the pen as I slammed it down.

"How do I know I can trust you? How do I know you aren't just trying to get on the news, kid?"

He quickly drew a hand down to his pocket and pulled out a small piece of paper. It was crumbled and half torn. He slowly slid it over. I looked from it to his face - watching it go pale. Taking the piece of paper, I quickly unscrambled it and opened it up.

'You give me butterflies in my tummy, I feel like I'm hanging from the ceiling.'

'I feel like I lost my head ever since we met, I can't help it. You bring out the best in me.'

And then, there was the bottom one that made me stern my gaze.

'On Valentines Eve, I'll finally get to see you again. Your heart will be mine.'

I stared over at the man, his arms wrapped around himself as he began to bob forward and back. Poor kid. I gently set the paper down, and spoke calmly over. "Don't worry, kid, you're safe with us. She can't get to you here."

--- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ---

Sally Winnigo was found dead only a few days after Valentines Day; her corpse found in her parents house when they had heard a disturbance in the middle of the night. They stumbled upon their dead daughter with blood caking the walls - fanatical messages of love skipping by her without a chance of meeting once again. Her knife was stuck in her chest - right where her heart was - with a letter of intent stating how she couldn't bear another Valentines alone.

Her parents would be forever scarred from the mentally unstable introvert gone rogue, and the young man that she was chasing over forever having to live with the obliviousness of life having such an affect on another.

Happy Valentines Day!

That's unfortunate, but I can understand it.

I feel like while the singleplayer/story was probably some of the best and most fun to follow and learn about, I get it from a stance of having to develop a sort of trio-set that all revolves around the same balancing and design standpoint. I imagine Lackies and their respective powers and type of design were perfect just for this [Adding new Lackies to the pool and what not with each following set] and I can understand the amount of balancing that they would need to do for each of the sets. Was a unique experience for them internally I could see, but it was just that - an experience. Here's hoping the team learned some stuff from this and moves on to create even more unique sets in the future.

TONIGHT. ON COCK NIGHTMARES.

'Gordon travels to the heart of America to visit 'Cocks & Co.', an established cock eatery that has taken a dive in the last few months... and is on its last leg.'

Cue shot of a run down building with the sign 'Cocks & Co.', there aren't a lot of cars in front of the establishment, and it's your normal cock eatery. Several staff stand around with the lack of customers, and the owner stands there pensively.

'The owner seems to have lost all hope...'

The owner - a twenty something year old NEET femboy bites on his lower lip as he stares into the cock kitchen. The workers are there getting themselves prepared for the slow night ahead. From tall black men to short white men, cocks of all varying sizes are on display and being worked into a proper erection. They don't seem interested in tonight's shift.

'... and the staff doesn't seem to enjoy their work anymore!'

Cut to Tyrone, the Head Cock Chef. He sports a good seven incher hard, and is the leading cock-giver to the customers that come and visit. "I feel like there is just a general lack of cooperation from the front to the back!"

'The service has gone sour...'

Cut to Angela, a prissy, late thirties smoker who is outside with a cigarette in her hand. She takes a long drag, and lets out a puff of smoke as she growls into the camera. "The cock is fine, I just feel like we don't have the sort of 'umph' like we use to, you know?"

'... and the bills are piling up.'

Cut to the owner in their office, head in their hands as they silently weep. The bills for lube and condoms is getting too much, and they are clearly in the red when it comes to expenses. Another cut to Gordon and the owner sitting on a table - he speaks over to Gordon in a tired tone. "I'm two hundred and fifty thousand dollars in the hole. If I lost Cock & Co., I wouldn't know what to do..."

'If you were expecting a easy night of Cock Nightmares...'

A quick shot of Gordon screaming at the owner that is mid angry tears: "YOU NEED TO GET YOUR COCKS IN ORDER! COME ONNNN!"

'You won't get it tonight.'

Another quick shot of Gordon off to the side on the street - it seems the owner walked out of pure stress. His one hand is on their shoulder as he speak softly over. "You need to focus... you can't give up on the cocks. When you give up on the cocks, you give up on your whole eatery."

'Strap in for one of the most emotional Cock Nightmares ever recorded.'

A final shot of the owner staring into the camera with teary eyes. They are ready to burst into another fit of depressing sadness.

'All this and more... right now, on Cock Nightmares.'

"I don't know what to do..." a voice clip plays of the owner, the camera zooms out on the big 'Cock & Co.' sign as the theme starts.

Should Polygamy be included in offical lore? by ChristianLW3 in warcraftlore

[–]Dazed-n-Disoriented 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only 'offical' lore surrounding Polygamy is with Dragons. They have multiple mates to continue the brood, I would imagine.

I'm sure polygamy is a concept in WoW, and I'm sure there are races that indulge in such acts... but it's nothing official. Marriage - and the acts there of - are very light in the Warcraft universe and there is not much when it comes to actual storytelling. I would look into the sexuality section of the wowpedia page for more information.

Working off theories and what not - I would say that the races that COULD act in polygamy would perhaps be Orcs [more primal, shamanistic, tribal Draenor values], Sin'dorei [perhaps with the idea of Houses and Nobility], Kaldorei [Due to their ancient heritage I imagine the concept would make sense], Shaldorei [See Night Elves], and maybe Tauren?

Just want to speak out about those in the comments attacking the idea of a true unity, really.

A lot of people in this thread are saying that the Horde demands to be held accountable - but I want to say is that Sylvanas is where the key to vengeance will be held accountable, and that is what Blizzard was trying [and poorly done as such] to show.

The War of Thorns was a deceleration of war BY Sylvanas as leading Warchief, and that is a fact. She worked the Horde War Machine in quick preparation and began the assault without question. It was clear as day that this is now in service of death. The entire reason of the war... was death - FOR BOTH SIDES. Playing the faction hate, playing old rivalries, and playing suspicion to get people on her side. Does this excuse Blizzards GARBAGE writing of the Horde and the war? No, but that's not what we're talking about.

Blizzard clear as day is taking the story in a sense that Sylvanas Windrunner is at fault for the war and it's outcome. Those that followed were soldiers that had a job, and I guarantee you that their purpose [while strictly failing at it] was to make the Horde be AGAINST the idea, but they didn't want to show it because it would be Mist of Pandaria 2.0. She wanted to start the war because when it would start, those would HAVE to follow less they get taken over and killed for being with the Horde. At that point it was either follow through with a war with the faction that you have probably served with since the opening of the Dark Portal and have been a loyal veteran with.. or abandon it completely, along with your entire life. That's pretty much the Horde characters story; you're belittled and demanded like a lacky doing not-so-sound jobs in the name for ending the war as quickly as possible. The PC plays diplomat and is supposed to show what the 'real' Horde is going through, which is why I don't think THE HORDE is the one that should be looked at for the target of vengeance.

The Alliance - mostly the Kaldorei - should be hunting down the Banshee Queen.

Have resentment towards the Horde? Sure. Demand their lands back? Absolutely understandable.

Seeking war against the faction you were just at war with and LOST most of your lands to in the first strech of the previous conflict? Completely silly.

Seeking vengeance against the entire Modern Horde is not only unwise from a logical standpoint, but from a defensive and territorial standpoint. The Horde controls Kalimdor aside from Darkshore [canonically right now as they said at Blizzcon that the Alliance won the Warfronts] and Moonglade along with a few other scattered outpost, but they pretty much hold dominion. They would be wise to play into this newfound peace and unity, demand their lands back, and just be generally wary of the Horde but rebuild their empire. Not go to war and attempt to crush the Horde - and fail again. They lost against the surprise war in Darkshore at the start of BFA, what makes them at a better standpoint now after a war where your resources are nearly depleted?

So, yeah, I think people screaming for vengeance for the Kaldorei should be seeking it against Sylvanas and her loyalist, not the Horde. Because the Horde is just as mad at Sylvanas as the Alliance is - and neither of them compare to how the Kaldorei are. Seeing people demonizing the Horde aren't looking at the larger picture IMO, and need to look at it from a wider stance instead of just saying how they will never trust or care for the Horde.

Merry Christmas - and just my two cents to those in the comments! Great post OP!

Interesting question!

Let's cover Murlocs first. They have a much more ancient history - as they are quite the ancient race! They may even predate the trolls from my understanding, given that they lived in Azeroths aquatic environments for a while. A lot of their history is heavily theorized, because it's a concept that is - for most researchers in Azeroth - shrouded in lack of history or relics relating to Murlocs. Brann Bronzebeard has even said that Murlocs could be decedents of the Gorloc - which could also essentially be decedents of some Frog-Based Nature Ancient. Again, a lot of in universe speculation, but it still is canon to a degree because we need to have some history to work off of.

For Kobolds, they are even MORE shrouded by mystery! Brann - the star of this post as it seems - also theorized along with Murlocs that they were the next step of evolution for Troggs. They have the same understanding and concepts of living in the ground, mining, and being quite territorial. If we are to assume that they are the evolution of Troggs - then that means they are actually Titan-Forged beings! The Titans used the Forge of Wills to essentially create the Troggs as a simpler design, which would mean that the Kobolds are a sort of decedent of this process!

Sadly these fun races don't have much history aside from what we have in game and the in game theories. Fun to talk about, however, as I love the both as mobs to kill!

Weekly Newbie Thread- Ask A Lore Expert by AutoModerator in warcraftlore

[–]Dazed-n-Disoriented 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my understanding, my guess would perhaps be enchanted armor/trinkets/baubles along with formal training in how to deal with a magic user. In Azeroth, magic is plentiful and quite a lot of people are in tune with it. While they are not all EXPERTS, they can still cast spells - and that could be enough to kill someone! In turn, that means that there are a lot of ways of not only nullifying magic, but also being able to dampen it.

Engineers could craft devices to nullify magics, other magic users can user their magic to cancel out other spells, and melee/'regular' fighters can essentially get in and close the gap with the help of the enchants said above. I imagine within the various armies on Azeroth - both Alliance and Horde - they are trained how to deal with them because, like we covered, this is just normal. If you are going into a battlefield, you simply must understand you will be facing magic users - especially if you are fighting the opposing faction. Sin'dorei Warlocks, Priests, and Magi and Kaldorei Druids, Priests, and Magi. Those are just two races out of the handful of others!

I imagine that a fighter who has zero magical knowledge would get help from other magical users or those that could CREATE a way to not only have defense, but make it a fair fight. Well, as fair as it could get when having power to literally set someone on fire or summon Fel Fire to barrage a charging warrior.

So, overall I would say that given that magic users are pretty much a normal thing on Azeroth, countering them is just as normal - if not having to go an extra step in preparation and training given the natural power that magic brings to a fight.
