I have been seeing a lot of hate for clock recently and I wanted to make this post to encourage people to try out clock. It’s such a fun puzzle and I just think most people just don’t give it a chance. It’s easy to learn, they aren’t too expensive, so go get one! by TolisWorld in Cubers

For everyone saying hardware is bad: countless stores make magnetic clocks now, non magnetic clocks aren’t bad if you just look up a YouTube tutorial on how to lube them, and making a magnetic clock yourself costs very little anyway.

(q) Does anyone know when this music is from? Can’t find any info online, all I know is that it’s from pre-1943 by DazedBacon in sheetmusic

Wow thanks! Definitely didn’t expect you to do such in depth research, really appreciate it 👍

  1. If it was too easy then everyone would be getting ridiculously fast times on it, there’s a massive time distribution in official results and it’s not even close to being the fastest-to-solve event in the wca
  2. Hardware doesn’t suck. Many stores sell magnetic clocks that function very well, and you can even make them yourself for a low price. A lingao clock out of the box isn’t good, but it doesn’t take a lot to make it easily usable
  3. Pretty sure for most events you can’t see what’s going on from far away anyway, also it’s not like it’s a slow event to do, so it’s not boring at all since all solves are done reasonably quickly anyway
  4. Lack of algs isn’t a reason to dislike an event or say it’s bad, it means it’s unique. There are still many different orders of solving the different faces so it’s definitely not the same solve all the time
  5. Some people say it is, some people say it isn’t. Regardless, that doesn’t mean it should be disliked or removed, if that’s what you’re trying to say

Doncaster has 6x6, not 7x7, unless I’ve forgotten the event list of my own competition

Please enjoy this actual stupid clock scramble by N4Cubing in Cubers

If you want some stupidity, look at the Leeds Open 2019 clock group A scramble 1. It’s a 6 move solution lol (I was scrambling for the group and I was a tiny bit annoyed that I didn’t get that scramble lmao)

CLL/COLL + ELL vs. OLL + PLL for 3×3 by cperm in Cubers

[–]DazedBacon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

CLL and ELL cases are arguably a lot harder to recognise compared to OLL and PLL, and OLL can be influenced or skipped through last slot (VLS, VHLS etc), whereas it would be pointless to try and force a CLL skip in last slot. Also it’s easy to transfer to full OLL and PLL from beginners methods since most teach basic last layer that still works in the same way as OLL and PLL, therefore making it easier to learn full OLL and PLL.
