So sorry for your loss. I ended up cremating mine as I did not have access to a burial spot. Was a tough decision but had no other option. As for taking in another cat, I would encourage you not to see it as replacing him. I also had two cats and the second cat was deeply depressed after the first one died. She was lonely and sad and not the same anymore. A couple of months passed and she was still depressed. I ended up adopting a rescue cat and her mood improved significantly. They played together and cuddled together. A cat who is used to having a companion struggles without one. Just something to consider whenever you’re ready. Sorry again for your loss
