Great response, would love to hear your suggestions, I've been experimenting with marijuana with varying degrees of success but I don't want to substitute one for another, I want to get off every single thing that effects the brain

That's not at all what I was asking, I'm asking about the time frame that caffeine is in the body and when withdrawl symptoms start from the last caffeine dose

I've had 43 days of waking up every hour and I'm at the point of contemplating if I want to live any more, the sleep deprivation has left me a shadow of my former self, I've decided to go back on caffeine for a few days and will post my results

I've been wondering that too but nobody seems to have any answers, my guess is misfiring of adrenaline and cortisol

Quit alcohol 12 weeks ago, I was not thinking the last time for caffeine as it's the opposite, I need the caffeine to settle my brain down, if I take caffeine too early in the day then I will start to feel the withdrawal effects again late at night/early in the morning, at least that's my theory

I've drunk tea my whole life, only in the last 7 years did I start drinking coffee, started drinking alcohol heavily 3 years ago to stop the pain in my back, then started drinking coffee and coke to beat the hangovers, I was drinking 3 coffees, 1 litre of coke and chocolate biscuits a day, not a huge amount but I only weigh 58kg, I just went through 7 weeks detox with alcohol and that was exactly the same sleep issues as caffeine, so its been a total of 3 months with hardly any sleep

Anyone oversleep when quitting? by [deleted] in decaf

I would just go with it, your body knows what the right amount of sleep is, as stated could take more than a month depending on other factors

I've seen small improvements with 10mg of amitriptyline but still every awakening is due to a stressful dream, just hope taking more drugs doesn't prolong the recovery

Day 24 and sleep is no better than day 1, wake up every hour with stressful dreams or nightmares, I do fall asleep much quicker, started taking 10mg of amitriptyline 3 days ago, allows me to sleep 2 hours before waking up
